Job Description/Responsibilities:
- Analyze clients’ current data maturity and underlying systems, conceptualize desired future states, and document roadmaps to implement the future state
- Define and manage standards, guidelines, principles, and processes in alignment with data architecture strategies and roadmaps
- Proactively review data quality and controls to identify possible weaknesses
- Recommend opportunities for embedding governance controls (e.g., access, data quality validation, and metadata), scalability, security, reliability and for ongoing optimization and maintenance
- Determine training and communication needs and develop related content
- Work with delivery teams, application analysts, data scientists, and data engineers to understand and use clients’ data tools
- Define how data will be stored, consumed, ingested, shared, and reported on by different systems and end-users
- Provide understandable reports and visualizations / dashboards
- Be detail oriented, proactive, and adaptable to changing priorities and ad hoc requests in an agile environment
- Balance a variety of assignments and independently manage time and resources to deliver quality work by established deadlines
- Build client relationships by anticipating and addressing client needs, leveraging the firm’s intellectual property, and sharing ideas for new content
- Support project management activities, including routine status reports, quality control, risk analysis, and mitigation planning
Required:
- 7 or more years of experience in:
- Advising on data governance, including strategy, organizational structure, roles & responsibilities, policies, processes, tools, and training & communication needs Establishing and managing data quality standards and related performance indicators, including data definitions, metadata, and processes
- Understanding and technical acumen in data governance and analytics tools, platforms, and ecosystems (e.g., DataOps tools, AWS)
- Understand data interfacing, integration, and ingestion tools for Extract, Transform, Load (ETL), Extract, Load, Transform (ELT), and data virtualization
- Understanding of data visualization tools (MS Power BI, Tableau, Qlik etc.) with a heavy emphasis on Power BI. Experience with migration between multiple visualization tools is a plus.
- Proven track record of creating clear, concise deliverables that reflect a deep understanding of business needs and technical solutions
- Ability to develop strong team and client relationships
- Excellent facilitation and written communication skills (including presentation skills)
- Creative problem-solving ability and a consultancy mind-set
- Client-facing experience in a consulting environment
- Willingness to step into unfamiliar situations with a mindset to learn and gain experience
- Hybrid Positions: Compensation may vary based on education, skills, experience and location. Selected candidate must be local and able to work from one of the following offices: Tysons, VA (HQ); Washington DC; Tampa, FL; Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; Huntsville, AL as needed. Client meetings may be required in-person

- Master’s degree in a science, technology, math, or engineering field
- Architecture
- Experience with emerging technologies (e.g., software development and automation; cloud-hosting; and data warehouses, lakes, and fabric) Strong understanding and experience working with cloud infrastructure services like Azure, Amazon Web Services, and Google Cloud; with a heavy emphasis on AWS.
- Engineering
- Ability to stand-up and manage an integrated software development environment.
- Experience in any database technology (SQL Server/Azure Cosmos DB)
- Experience working with code repositories and continuous integration (i.e. Git, Jenkins, etc.)
- Analytics
- Experience building state-of-the-art algorithms and analytical techniques, including leveraging machine learning and artificial intelligence for predictions / forecasting
- Experience in at least one statistical programming language (i.e., C#, Python, R); knowledge and understanding of Python Pandas is a plus.
- Experience implementing and automating models created by data science teams (i.e., Spark, Scala, Hive, Python, R, etc.)
- Other
- Professional Certification(s) (e.g., analytical tools)
- Experience with SDLC and Agile Methodologies
- Experience with empathic and highly collaborative user experience (UX) Design Thinking/Human-Centered Design and rapid prototyping
