Responsibilities
Guidehouse is looking for a Data Engineer to support one of our performing teams of experienced data engineers, data analysts, and developers and client environments. This high performing team works with clients to implementing data analytics and data science including data engineering, data gathering, data visualization, dashboarding. The Data Engineer will be responsible for supporting the team focusing on architecture, administration and maintenance of the critical platforms and tools used by the team. Providing team support in system availability, data environment administration and improvements. The Systems Engineer will bring hands-on experience with administering, maintaining, monitoring, and providing team support and guidance. Resulting in a high performing data environment for data team and clients.
Qualifications
The following skills/experience/knowledge are REQUIRED to be considered for this role:
Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience minimum required or equivalent experience working with relevant technology stack.
Active or Interim Secret Clearance required
US Citizen
Experience with data architecture
Experience with installation, customization, integration, and administration activities
Significant understanding of Data Engineering & Analytics
Maintaining proper system controls and quality standards
Experience working with team and stakeholders reviewing system environment planning and status updates
Candidate should have experience:
- Experience supporting Apache Zeppelin, Spark, R and CRAN or equivalent tools
- Supporting Python, PYPI, and Perl
- Experience with IBM Integrated Analytics Systems – Sailfish, InfoSphere, Informatica
- Creating, maintaining, administering ETL processes.
- Database Administration (DBA)
- Leading team operations, tasking, quality, and oversight.
- Engaging with clients presenting status, enhancement and upgrade plans, roadmaps, and other requirement activities.
- Working with JIRA or an equivalent agile project management tool (i.e. Pivotal Tracker, VersionOne) tracking work task and metrics.
- Reviewing and analyzing technical specifications to resolve issues.
- Strong analyzing and troubleshooting skills.
- Root cause analysis of system issues and creation of recovery plans.
- Proactively plan and perform routine maintenance, performance updates, and overall system availability and stability
Ideal candidate has experience with:
- Experience administering Linux and Windows environments
- Remediation of security and performance related issues.
- Exposure to CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Maven, Docker
