Job Summary :The Operational Excellence Data Analyst is an important role in driving the success of Harbor Freight’s Operational Excellence team and program. Process improvement is a data-driven domain, and this role will work cross-functionally to support the process improvement data needs across the distribution network. Embedded in the fast-growing Operational Excellence team, this role will be expected to utilize Lean Six Sigma principles and tools to identify, collect, clean, analyze, and present the data needed to identify and explain improvement opportunities, cause and effects, process variation, and results. This team member will be expected to use Tableau to develop easy-to-consume and actionable insights for all levels of the operation.
Job Description :Summary

This team member will be expected to use Tableau to develop easy-to-consume and actionable insights for all levels of the operation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Partner with Ops Excellence & Operations to identify or validate improvement opportunities
- Define and measure Key Performance Input Variables (KPIVs) and Key Performance Output Variables (KPOVs) needed to measure process improvement success
- Partner with Ops Excellence to develop process maps and swimlane diagrams
- Develop and execute data collection plans for process improvement initiatives
- Partner with Ops Excellence & Supply Chain Analytics for advanced statistical root cause analysis
- Partner with Operations and Ops Excellence to implement process improvements
- Partner with Supply Chain Analytics to implement process monitoring mechanisms to ensure improvement initiatives are realized and process controls are sustained
- Partner with Ops Excellence to drive standards across the distribution network
- Support operations by coaching on fundamentals of using data to support needs like running pareto analysis, loss profiles, etc.
- Regular attendance is an essential function of the job

Job Qualifications – Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 3 yrs. of work history directly related to Distribution, operations management and/or process engineering strongly preferred.
- Candidate is a strong critical thinker with a strong attention to detail
- Candidate is comfortable leveraging technology (such as SQL and Tableau) to simplify insights for all levels of operation
- Candidate is comfortable working with ambiguity, as the problem that needs to be solved or how to solve the problem will not always be clear
- Candidate is comfortable collaborating with a wide variety of stakeholders, personalities, and backgrounds
- Candidate has a strong mathematical (particularly statistical) orientation
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively share findings with shareholders
- Working knowledge of Tableau a strong plus.
- Working knowledge of distribution operations a strong plus.
- Working knowledge of how enterprise systems and relational data structures work a strong plus.
- Working knowledge of advanced Excel functions to analyze data (Nested formulas, pivot tables, graphing, statistical analysis toolpack and VBA)
- Working knowledge of Manhattan WMS a strong plus.
