BUSINESS ANALYST – Project Management Office
Remote Eligible, strong preference for Pacific Northwest/West Coast
Compensation $80K – 120K DOE
Business analysts identify, define, and document business processes and software requirements to be developed as software. They serve as a liaison between business and our information and technology teams by facilitating communication and determining software objectives that align with stated and unstated business needs. The Business analyst utilizes technology to add value to our business proposition. This position is not a role in construction. Harbor is a foodservice/restaurant/hospitality distribution company.
- Use a variety of techniques to understand business requirements: interviews, workshops, surveys, site visits, and storyboards.
- Obtain a deep understanding of relevant business area(s) to be able to recommend solutions and build high-quality requirements.
- Understand technical options, limitations, costs, and risks. Communicate tradeoffs to business partners and work with them to shape requirements accordingly.
- Translate conceptual user requirements into clear, detailed functional requirements.
- Help resolve competing priorities between stakeholder groups by facilitating stakeholder discussions and escalate issues where appropriate.
- Manage communications and working relationships between IT and other departments within the organization as well as multiple outside vendors.
- Collect, analyze, and summarize information and trends and prepare reports on technical issues or questions and make recommendations to the team and stakeholders.
- Help design, document, and maintain improvement of systems, processes, workflow charts and diagrams, training programs, and workshops for staff and customers.
- Manage requirements scoping throughout the delivery process.
- Support delivery teams as they develop, test, and deploy solutions.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Protects the business by keeping information confidential.

- Proven experience in eliciting requirements and testing.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information in a condensed manner to various stakeholders verbally and in writing.
- Proven interpersonal skills and an ability to influence senior leaders and peers.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- The ability to thrive—and remain calm—under pressure and to be productive in a fast-paced work environment.
- Willingness and ability to travel.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience within a large enterprise system of product and customer management.
- Experience in Food industry is preferred.
License and Certifications:
- Business analysis certification (e.g. CBAP) is preferred.
