Position Summary
The System Risk and Analytics Analyst position supports the Corporate oversight of HA’s operation through data capture, conducting risk assessments, quantitative and qualitative analysis to provide valuable information for Corporate Safety & Security (S&S) and relevant operational departments. The analyst will maximize use of all available data captured within the centralized S&S database and other databases deemed necessary to manage operational risk.
Key Responsibilities
- Support continuous improvement of the S&S programs by developing complex data structures to support the generation of business insights and strategy, automate recurring processes
- Provide a holistic approach to data analysis of the centralize S&S system, with the intent of identifying significant risk and root causes/breakdown factors of flight and ground operations
- Oversee the centralized S&S database system by performing critical functions to include the application of taxonomy, validation of risk, effective change management
- Support the Integrated Safety Review Board (ISRB), Security Review Board (SeRB) and Departmental Safety Review Boards (SRB) by developing and automating dashboards and reports utilizing Safety/Security/QA data streams
- Support the departmental SMS analysts through validation of hazard and incident reports.
- Develop and report upon the S&S QA key performance indicators (KPI) and necessary, raise awareness of adverse trends identified through the monitoring of the ISRB KPIs
- Active, daily monitoring of HA’s Safety/Security/Quality Assurance Dashboard to identify, communicate and mitigate risks in the operation.
- Support ISRB and SRB working groups/risk assessments by providing subjective data analysis captured through the airlines centralized Safety/Security/QA database
- Develop professional, attractive and articulate reports with accuracy and for managers and directors use by internal and external stakeholders. Creatively reporting complex issues and ideas in ways that are easy to understand is essential
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and related working experience
- 3+ years of Airline Operations or Safety Analyst experience required
- Must have excellent managerial, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Must possess the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat software, and Business Intelligence software such as Tableau (or similar software)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills are required
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an airport SIDA credential.
- Must be able to travel to both domestic and international locations; passport required
- Hawaiian Airlines is regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT – regulation, 49 CFR part 40) and all applicants are advised that post-offer and/or pre-employment drug testing will be conducted to determine the presence of Marijuana, Cocaine, Opioids, PCP (Phencyclidine), and Amphetamine prior to any offer of employment or transfer into a safety-sensitive position. Failure to submit to testing or positive indications of drug use will render the applicant ineligible for employment with Hawaiian Airlines and any employment offer will be withdrawn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters Degree, Project Management Certification or Six Sigma certification preferred
- 5+ years of Airline or Safety or Analyst experience preferred
- Quantitative and qualitative data analysis, data modeling, developing reports relational database experience SQL, SAS, Unix programming experience preferred
