The Provider & Member Insights and Provider Network Data Science team delivers advanced analytics and insights as we lead the way to improve healthcare by increasing collaboration with providers to ensure coverage that is affordable, accessible, appropriate, effective and equitable.
An ideal candidate will be interested in a role working to leverage large amounts of data in pursuit of better healthcare outcomes for the community. Our team works to find innovative solutions to existing or emerging healthcare challenges. We use complex healthcare data from a range of sources and a variety of analytics, data science, and visualization tools to build, deploy and enable predictive models and generate and deliver insights and advanced analytics.
Provider Insights: Our goal is to understand the individual provider practice patterns that influence quality of care. We work to generate actionable insights to improve outcomes and support collaboration and communication about provider efficiency and quality.
Member Insights: Our goal is to create actionable insights to help overcome barriers and condition drivers that influence how members interact with their healthcare providers and healthcare coverage. These insights enable our provider partners to make more informed decisions to help our members.
Job Purpose:
The Senior Manager Data Science will organize and lead a team of data scientists and data engineers that connects the team to new data sources (health data exchange, etc.), integrates data for consumption and utilization by modeling and analytics team, and executes existing model scoring and production. Build and develop a team that takes ownership of completed model assets and launches them into steady-state by consolidating & maintaining repeatable processes for the provider and member insights programs. Leads work to optimize processes to minimize run time and errors and follow best practices authoring code that enables continuity of work and minimizes disruption. Maintains the flow of information with the Modeling and Adoption teams, gathers requirements, ensures/enables collaboration, communicates limitations and timelines, and prioritizes work. Ensures timely delivery to stakeholders. Explores, evaluates, & guides the team into future state computing environments; collaborates with enterprise teams to shape the requirements for migration of team assets to future state MLOps infrastructure.
- Bachelorโs degree and 5 years of work experience in a mathematical, statistical, computer science, engineering, physics, economics or related quantitative field; OR Actuarial credential or Masterโs degree and 4 years of work experience in an advanced mathematical, statistical , engineering, physics or related quantitative field; OR Ph.D. and 2 years of work experience in a mathematical, statistical, computer science, engineering, physics, economics or related quantitative field; OR 8 years of work experience in an advanced mathematical, statistical , engineering, physics or related quantitative field.

- A track record of independently delivering or leading the delivery of a complex analytics or data science project.
- Mentoring, managing, or leading junior analytics or data science staff.
- Advanced degree in computer science, engineering, data science or other relevant field.
- Experience with SQL, large scale data processing frameworks like Spark and Hadoop, and Python
- Experience working in Azure environments
- Experience with medical claims and CCDA data
