Job Description

The Data Science QA Engineer will participate in all aspects of creating a testing strategy and infrastructure for the data science and data engineering teams. This will include the development of a testing strategy, creation of detailed test plans, execution of the test strategy and delivery of high-quality software to production. This is a hands-on position. HDAI has developed an industry-leading methodology for creating sophisticated and highly accurate data models for predicting a range of clinical risks using claims data and a validated supervised learning approach. These insights are to be used to highlight the most important elements of a patient’s health history to the most important people at the most impactful times. To accomplish this a complete product suite and architecture is being built including ETL, large-scale databases, real-time integrations with external systems, a publicly-facing API, compute engines and several user-facing applications. Other members of the engineering team will participate with you to select tools and create an environment that allows for automated builds as well as the running of unit tests and automated regression tests. The build system will also allow for the ability to deploy builds to development, test and production systems in the cloud in an easy and repeatable manner.

Key Responsibilities

· Assist in the creation of a formal methodology for validating statistical models

· Assist in the creation of a plan to validate the data science computing platform

· Manually test functionality as required

· Develop an automation framework and test cases to validate the data science platform and models

· Coordinate with existing QA team to incorporate the validation of the data science and AI platform with the validation of the products using it

Required Expertise

· 5+ years’ relevant QA experience

· 3+ years of automation experience (creating your own automation framework, supporting existing automation framework)[GC1][GC2]

· Solid understanding of statistics and statistical modeling

· Solid understanding of SQA methodologies, techniques and approaches

· Programming skills in at least one language (Python, Java, JavaScript)

· Experience working in an Agile (preferably Scrum) environment

· Ability to think critically to get to the heart of problems

· Ability to write clear and concise test plans and defects

· Ability to create overall testing strategies

· Excellent oral and written communication skills

Nice to Have

· Deploying to cloud infrastructure such as AWS

· SQL skills

· Experience working with data scientists

· Some knowledge of basic statistical models (i.e. regression models).

Preferred Education

· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00 – $130,000.00 per year
