Description
Position Summary:
This is a key position within the Microsoft Solutions organization responsible for design, coding, unit testing and documentation of applications for our customers.
Roles and Responsibilities/ Essential Functions:
- Estimate development effort required with team members to frame in solution architectures
- Assist Data Solutions Manager on Technology direction for team and the organization
- Ability to adjust developmental practices for delivering BI and Data solutions based on the project and client expectations
- Meet with clients to understand their current business processes and needs to provide consulting services and direction on how to build or grow their current data strategy
- Work with HBS Sales Solutions consultants to identify and grow opportunities within HBS client environments
- Support and administer the underlining infrastructure and layout of a client data environment
- Develop and design the process for the customer data collection process
- Develop policies and procedures for the collection and analysis of data
- Review customer sources to ensure integrity of the data collection process
- Collaborate with the BI Data Developers to ensure the requirements are being met to build the right solution needed
- Estimate development effort required to delivery data customer needs and requests
- Use business analysis skillset to identify development needs for the purpose of streamlining and improving the operations of the organization for efficiency and profitability
- Ability to work independently or as a team on project-based solutions for clients
- Design and develop front end visuals based on BI needs and usability of reporting to answer business questions and tell the data story
- Lead BI software development, deployment and maintenance
- Work with customers to understand their data and answer business questions using data analytics
- Work in partnership with customers to validate the data through User Acceptance Testing
- Work in an agile framework that allows your efforts to produce results quicker and get the reports in the hands of the users for validation while continued development occurs
- Engage in brand building events and groups like the Power BI User Group
- Work with team mates to continue to grow and mature data services and delivery options for HBS clients
- Work with HBS Sales Solutions Consultants to identify and expand opportunities within HBS client environments
- Set business requirements for BI tools and translate business requirements into technical requirements
- Understand that based on the project scope, it will define the degree of involvement at what level to engage; data source layers, warehouse layer, analytics and/or reporting layer
- Develop and design the process for the customer data collection and modeling
- Review customer sources to ensure integrity of the data collection process

Required Experience:
- Experience with needs analysis, software evaluation and selection, customization, and implementation
- Understand multi-dimensional database structures and schemas
- Knowledge of system design, development, and deployment
- Microsoft BI Suite Experience

- Programming and Processing Experience
- T-SQL
- ETL
- Strong knowledge of SQL utilizing MS SQL Server
- Experience with needs analysis, software evaluation and selection, customization, and implementation
- Understanding of report writing and visualization
Preferred Experience:
- Expertise in Professional Services or similar client facing roles
- Experience in multiple industry (Education, Healthcare, Retail, Manufacturing) verticals
- Strong understanding of report writing and visualization

- General understanding of multiple Analytics platforms with the ability to articulate the differences and benefits of each platform i.e., Power BI, Qlik and Tableau
- Azure Experience

- Azure Synapse
Required Skills, Education and/ or Certifications:
- Working towards Bachelor’s degree in business or I.T. related discipline accepted
- 3.5 minimum GPA
