HemoCue, part of the Radiometer Group since April 2013, is a global leader in point‐of‐care testing.
HemoCue AB (Ängelholm, Sweden), introduced in 1982 the first accurate, near-patient hemoglobin test. The company also sells point‐of‐care tests for glucose, urine albumin, HbA1c, total and differential white blood cell count. We are direct present in 19 countries and have customers in 130 countries worldwide with a 65% market share of hemoglobin analysis for anemia. Every second, 4 analysis are done on our systems worldwide, something we are incredibly proud of. HemoCue has about 450 employees, of which 250 work at the Head-office in Sweden. The revenue is 110 MUSD and our latest product releases are the Hb801 Hemoglobin analyzer with the 801 Connect cloud based solution for data reporting. We take a pride in being where the patient meets the healthcare system for the first time and where accurate, reliable and fast decisions needs to be made.
The typical solution is a system of an Analyzer and a Cuvette, where the cuvette is a single use disposable and the analyzer being robust for many years. We are in particular proud of the Cuvette technology with world-class in-line precision molding and we manufacture millions of cuvettes per year. The Analyzers are a complex combination of sensors, electronics, user interface, software, algorithms and fine tolerance mechanics to live up to our high standards, and we make sure it is a one-button analysis, as it has to be easy.

The R&D department at HemoCue is currently about 60 employees working on New Product Development for Point-of Care testing as well as being responsible for Sustaining of the current product portfolio. We have several highly skilled teams in Chemistry, Hardware, Software and Measurement Technologies that work together in multi-functional project teams. Our ambition is to help our customers to make the right decisions for their patients by deliver the most optimal solutions for tomorrows’ point of care testing. This means that the nurse or doctor that the patient first comes in contact with on his/her journey through the healthcare system should be able to make a fast and accurate diagnosis on the spot to speed up the treatment or referral to specialists. We take a pride in that our solutions are easy to use, that they are fast and accurate, and that they are used in a wide variety of environments from tents in nature disaster areas to primary care clinics and intensive care units at hospitals.
You will be part of HemoCue’s engineering team at Danaher India Development Center(IDC) in Bangalore .
IDC is a research and development center with the vision of accelerating product roadmaps across various Danaher business segments. Started in 2014, the center now hosts 600+ associates, for multiple Danaher operating companies focusing on Diagnostics, Life Science, and Environmental and Applied Science segments. The operating companies include Beckman Coulter, Radiometer, Leica Biosystems, Danaher Digital, Hach, Leica Microsystems, HemoCue, Videojet and Cepheid.
The IDC workforce comprises of various product engineering teams, working on the development of software and hardware components of innovative products for Immunoassay, Chemistry, Hematology, Molecular Diagnostics, Oncology, Neurosurgery and Water Quality. IDC has evolved as center of excellence for Cloud and data analytics, with significant contributions to the key informatics solutions. The teams consist of software & hardware engineers and development managers. The teams are supported by local Product Managers, Quality & Regulatory and Intellectual property specialists. Highly curious, interested in exploring Investigating software / system problems to isolate the root cause and provides innovative solutions.
