SUMMARY
The Data Engineer role will play a central part in executing, maintaining, and optimizing various HexArmor databases which drive company systems including SAP B1, other third-party add-ons such as a Warehouse Management System, MRP System, Tableau and e-commerce portals. Responsible for building and maintaining hybrid data solutions including a warehouse.
This role will collaborate with various business teams to optimize business processes that are both external and internal to the software-based systems. This includes assisting in the support of our overall business systems process improvements, including relational database system support, queries, reports, and third-party add-on data support.
This person must be able to analyze business processes, determine business needs and present or transform the required data in a clear, understandable, and interesting format working with system owners where applicable. We are looking for a self-starter who has an overwhelming drive to embrace challenges. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, build, and maintain data warehouse environment (Azure) with infrastructure support from a DevOps Engineer
- Design, develop, and implement ingestion and transformation pipelines in a Hybrid cloud environment
- Manage all database instances across environments, build and maintain internal knowledge base
- Manage all integrations inbound and outbound, across internal and external platforms and services: SAP B1, Salesforce, BI tools (Tableau, Spotfire), WMS, MRP, e-commerce, etc.
- Advocate for data and database best practices, data standardization, and data quality
- Perform and/or support report creation and management using report creation applications such as Crystal Reports, SQL Server Reporting Services, Tableau, Spotfire, etc. and query creation
- Work across departments to provide data / assistance for critical business reporting; identify opportunities to automate, simplify, or streamline reporting process where possible
- Partner with IT to optimize and enhance the database environment for speed, efficiency, and best practices
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree Information Systems, Computer Science, or Engineering equivalent
- 2+ years of experience in similar role or related field
- Experience administering Microsoft SQL databases, Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Integration Services, including views, tasks, tables, stored procedures, triggers, and services
- Hands-on experience using, writing, and optimizing SQL queries to retrieve or manipulate data in relational databases as needed or in support of system owners
- Experience with Microsoft Azure database solutions including Azure SQL, Azure blob storage
- Experience with cloud based ETL technologies like Data Factory to manage data manipulation and data integrations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment across with multiple teams
- SAP B1 or ERP experience preferred
- Python or other scripting language experience preferred
- Strong communication and facilitation skills to lead projects and positively influence collaborators at all levels of the organization
