Basic Function
HF Sinclair is seeking an IT Finance Analyst to be based in our headquarters in Dallas, TX. This position will be primarily responsible for the IT monthly closing process to accurately reflect operational performance. This role will complete necessary financial and management reporting requirements that communicates results, identifies key issues, and drives continuous improvement across IT spend (i.e. software, hardware, labor, consulting, general services, etc). The IT Finance Analyst will also be instrumental in leading the Annual Operating Plan for the IT organization; adding additional rigor into the strategic plan, developing KPI’s, and providing communication and updates across the IT organization.
Job Duties
- Facilitates the IT Financial Management OpEx forecasting, planning, and operations activities with budget owners and senior leadership.
- Leads IT financial reporting and reviews with budget owners on actuals vs. forecasted spending to develop actionable narratives and reports with IT leaders.
- Develops trend reports and proactively signals impact with recommendations for adjustments.
- Develops IT Annual Operating Plan through collaboration with IT budget owners and IT leadership (including collaboration and rollup of Project Financials).
- Conducts regular IT finance reviews with IT Leadership to improve finance related visibility and agility.
- Partner with Accounting and FP&A to ensure deadlines are communicated across the IT organization and updates to policy changes are communicated in an efficient manner.
- Provide optimization opportunities from the creation of financial models as well as trend and comparative analysis.
- Continuously assess policies, procedures, and controls to identify areas for hardening and opportunities for automation capabilities between systems related to financials (i.e. software assets).
- Train budget owners in the monthly and annual process to ensure understanding/impact, enhance performance targets, and drive a financially sound mindset.
- Preparing business cases to support new investments and acquisitions, strategic and other business decision (such as exploring third party management options for Telecom).
- Create guardrails and explore opportunities to streamline areas of financial handoff between teams an/or systems (such as PO creation, invoice receipts, and/or approvals of shopping carts).
- Perform pricing analysis to determine potential cost to organization and seek out opportunities for optimizing spend (IT Assets, Third Party Telecom Management, etc.).
- Supports the execution of tracking IT purchase orders to increase IT Finance Management compliance and reporting accuracy.
- Writes clear, concise, and accurate documentation/knowledge articles, and trains users on financial management processes, policies and technologies.

Experience
- A minimum of two years of business finance or other related experience
- High proficiency in financial modeling techniques
Preferred Experience:
- 3-5+ years of business finance or other relevant experience
- Working knowledge of SAP or ERP systems (SAP BPC preferred)
- Advance degree or certifications (MBA, CPA)
- Proven work experience in a quantitatively-heavy role
- Experience with Reporting Tools (PowerBi/Tableau)
- Tech/FinTech background
Education Level
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (BS, or B.Com), (Finance, Economics, Accounting, Statistics, or Information Technology) of work experience is required.
Required Skills
Advanced understanding of IT Financial Management processes and technologies; strong knowledge of finance planning and budget activities; understanding of information systems concepts/design/development, systems development life cycle; working knowledge of financial reporting and analysis; good communication, decision-making, analytical, time-management, problem solving and interpersonal skills. Strong cross-team communication and collaboration skills, both verbal and written. Strong fluency with Excel formulas and functions. Strong analytical and data gathering skills. Highly motivated, quick learner with a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Ability to interface at all levels of the organization, both internally and externally detailed-oriented, with the ability to shift to a big picture mindset to drive impact. Good business acumen.
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility
May provide oversight of managed service provider tasks and performance
Work Conditions
Office based with US, and potentially international, travel up to 10% by land and air. Occasionally required to work long hours which may include nights, weekends, holidays for regularly scheduled maintenance and emergency work and support as well as on-call availability. At times, required to work in warehouse/plant environment and refinery/industrial environment, includes but not limited to, work near moving mechanical parts and/or rotating equipment, loud noise or vibrations and varying road conditions. May be required to work outdoors and subject to all types of weather conditions including inclement weather. At times may be exposed to risk of electrical shock.
