We’re looking for an amazing Inventory Optimization & Business Analyst, to fill this role, which is based in either our Seattle, WA or Santa Clarita, CA office. You’ll be responsible for producing inventory reports and optimizing inventory utilization for shore excursions (shorex) and hotels as well as responsible for generating vendor level inventory performance reports by processing and organizing key data points into executive dashboards and/or at the SKU or departure level. The role is challenged with data analysis, critical thinking, decision support, document preparation, problem-solving and analysis presentation related to inventory revenue opportunity, revenue maximization, and process improvement.

Responsibilities
- Report-design including creation and automation using business intelligence tools such as Tableau and Power BI. These reports should be practical and usable by the Product team to monitor tour operator’s performance and inventory gaps.
- Evaluates, alters, and/or changes and understands large amounts of information using self-prepared SQL using Oracle; Proficient with database design, data manipulation, and data modeling.
- Analysis using Microsoft 365, especially Excel. Provides data summary using pivot tables, conditional formatting, complex formulas, database connectivity, and Power Pivot.
- Monitors cruise itineraries, year-over-year call volumes and provides recommendations for shorex inventory optimization to the product team, identifies distress departures.
- Assists with WL (missing inventory and contributes to shorex and hotel initiatives regarding the revenue generation through promotions. This includes participating in strategic discussions, continuous improvements, work-flow enhancements, generating user tools, system testing, and general support.
- Prepares and plans annual production schedule to meet targeted opening dates.
- Conduct shorex inventory market analysis and produce production schedule for targeted shorex and hotel openings online.
- Defines shorex and/or hotel business requirements for system upgrades and/or manage bugs and system fixes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Information Systems, Applied Mathematics, Statistics or equivalent experience required.
- 3 years of relevant professional experience with a strong analytical background as the reports created and data produced by this position will be of the highest quality and accuracy in order to facilitate effective decision-making at all levels.
- High level of expertise with quantitative and qualitative analytical methods.
- Strong aptitude with systems and data architecture.
- Strong problem-solving skills pertaining to inventory management.
- Experience in travel and working with operators preferred.
- Must be proficient in MS Office Suite, and especially advanced in MS Excel, and SQL query.
- Experienced with business intelligence software for report generation and data insights including proficiency using databases and data manipulation tools.
- Understanding of issues and possible resolutions concerning business operations.
- Proficient experience with financial analysis and statistical methods.
- Familiar with advanced technologies concerning process automation and improvements
- Informed and aware of the latest industry technologies available regarding inventory Management and best practices.
- Driven for continuous enhancements and improvements.
- Self-starter and able to work with minimal guidance and supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, support implementation of project plans
