About this Position:
The Sustainability Analyst is responsible for engaging with all direct suppliers in North America on Honda’s sustainability initiatives. These initiatives include overall sustainability education, collection and reduction of environmental footprint, and human rights due diligence; all of which have significant impact on HDMA brand and stakeholder influences. Role includes the establishment of supplier sustainability strategies through understanding of the Global and North American supply base, manufacturing process, and critical elements. Considering input from key stakeholders, propose sustainability improvements, supplier engagement and industry benchmarking. Effectively manage Team level project roles.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop, gain approval, & execute sustainability strategies to support and engage North American suppliers
- Responsible for assessing and evaluating suppliers sustainability data that is timely and accurate
- Establish, and achieve logical supplier sustainability targets through supplier education and negotiation
- Manage achievement of annual mass production supplier CO2 data through a third-party platform and supplier engagement
- Ensure accurate and timely budget tracking and processing to ensure efficient payment to third party vendors
- Responsible for building supplier relationships and monitoring industry trends/characteristics
- Gain consensus on sustainability initiatives through supplier selection, managing multiple projects through correlation activity with various internal and external stakeholders
- Effectively manage projects that support business needs
- Create and implement continuous improvement activities to support Honda lean practices
Who we are seeking:
Required Work Experience:
- 2+ years of Sustainability, Purchasing, Sales, Quality Control, or Engineering experience (Sustainability Preferred)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office specifically Microsoft Excel
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience
- Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred
Desired skills:
- Ability to negotiate based on logic, manage supplier relationships, work in teams to build consensus, solve problems, manage projects
Additional Position Factors:
- Willingness to work overtime due to the cyclical business needs.
- Open office environment with moderate level of noise and activity.
- Hybrid work environment (60% in house/40% remote)
- Regular occurrence of communicating and presenting information in groups for evaluation purposes.
