Job Location: Bangalore
As a data scientist, you’ll need to: work closely with your business to identify issues and use data to propose solutions for effective decision making. Your main responsibilities will be focused on building algorithms and design experiments to merge, manage, interrogate and extract data to supply tailored reports/ forecasts/ estimates to your business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Capture
- Understand the business data requirements and propose logic to harmonize the data solutions that meet the business metric.
- Act as gatekeeper for business data, managing data integrity, and ensuring data are accurate before consumption.
- Conduct Data Quality Audits on business metrics as necessary.
- Work with operational business managers to develop appropriate reports and audits of data system usage and data quality.
- Consult with the IT team to make sure that relevant data gets loaded in the data mart for consumption
Data Analysis
- Interpret and analyze large amounts of complex data to provide accessible, meaningful, and understandable insights in line with the business trends historically for a broad spectrum of users.
- Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns.
- Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms.
- Combine models through ensemble modeling
- Present findings clearly and compelling business insights through storyboarding and various visualization techniques
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Data Scientist or Data Analyst
- Experience in data mining
- Understanding of machine-learning and operations research
- Proven knowledge of R, SQL and Python;
- Experience using business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI) and data frameworks (e.g. Hadoop), proficiency in MS Excel
- Analytical mind and business acumen
- Strong math skills (e.g. statistics, algebra)
- Problem-solving aptitude
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, ability to work in virtual, multinational team
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s, Master’s or PHD degree in Mathematics, Economics, Physics, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- Typically 6-10 years’ experience including graduate or postgraduate research.
