Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Data Scientist who has hands-on experience in designing and implementing real-world data projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong theoretical foundation in data science and statistics, combined with practical skills in programming and data analysis. This role provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects and enhance our data capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and identify data-driven solutions.
- Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets to address complex business problems.
- Develop predictive models and machine-learning algorithms to derive insights and improve decision making.
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders through clear visualizations and reports.
- Assist in the development and deployment of data pipelines for large-scale data processing.
- Stay updated with the latest technologies and trends in data science and machine learning.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our data practices and strategies.
Job Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in executing data science projects from conceptualization to deployment; please provide examples or a portfolio of projects.
- Proficient in programming languages such as Python or R.
- Experience with SQL and databases.
- Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, etc.).
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Contributions to open source projects.
- Published work or presentations in data science applied to retail or banking industry.
