Responsibilities
As a Senior Data Scientist with the Responsible Augmented Intelligence team, you will have the opportunity to develop technical solutions to ensure ethical compliance of Humana’s AI programs. In this role, you will research and implement state-of-the-art Responsible AI best practices at enterprise scale.
Key responsibilities:

Leverage large sets of structured and unstructured data to develop tactical and strategic insights in the Responsible AI domain
-
Serve as a subject matter expert on technical matters of Responsible AI especially with respect to the detection and mitigation of bias in a wide range of predictive analytics applications

Develop software applications that will be used by Humana’s data science community to translate the principles of Responsible AI development into practice.

Contribute to the Analytics Community’s sharing of best practices
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Computer Science, Mathematics or Statistics and/or related field
-
3 or more years of professional experience leveraging large sets of structured and unstructured data to develop tactical and strategic insights
-
Advanced proficiency with Python and associated libraries
-
Ability to develop and validate advanced machine learning models in various domains
-
Experience interpreting and communicating analytic results to technical and non-technical audiences
-
Able to lead conversations on sensitive issues such as gender, race, and income disparities
Preferred Qualifications
-
Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Computer Science, Mathematics or Statistics and/or related field
-
Knowledgeable in research on algorithmic fairness, transparency, and accountability especially around the detection and mitigation of unconscious bias in machine learning models
-
Healthcare or managed care experience
-
Familiarity working with marginalized groups or knowledge of diverse social histories
-
Prior experience working with AI ethics stakeholders

Covid Vaccine Policy:
According to Humana’s COVID-19 policy, vaccination and masking is required regardless of vaccination status (with exception for eating and drinking) for associates working in a clinical setting where patients receive care (e.g., pharmacy retail locations, clinics, home care). The policy only requires the primary series alone (first and second vaccine). Boosters are encouraged, but not required. Work-At-Home Requirements:
To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:

Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.

Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
