The position requires the ability to combine data analysis, statistical modeling, data visualization and Business Intelligence, and communication in order to deliver high impact results via a high performing dual shore team. Good understanding of insurance industry is necessary
Essential Functions :
– Emphasis is on providing insights to the client, guidance to the team and managing end to end engagements with insurance focus
– The position requires the ability to combine data analysis, statistical modeling, data visualization and Business Intelligence, and communication in order to deliver high impact results
– Structure analytical solution to address business objectives
– Provide business acumen and hypothesis
– Responsible for project planning and delivery
– Effectively guide the team around problem structuring and use of analytics (tools and techniques) to carry out analysis
– Presenting work to, liaison with and build relationships with the client as required
Primary Responsibilities:
– Dual shore project management, coordination of all sub-team efforts, both onsite and offsite
– Strong communications, including deck writing
– Facilitation and gathering of client feedback on problem structuring
– Management of frequency of feedback loop with team
– Identify gaps and help build capabilities in junior team members
– Mentor other team members and partners on technical skills, best practices, problem solving approaches, and standard patterns used at client – both formally in structured group settings and informally in one-on-one and small group sessions
– Continuously improve technical design patterns, workflows, and tools-defining and enforcing standards when necessary to sustain the solutions’ effectiveness and sustainable, and experimenting with and promoting adoption of new tools and approaches when appropriate
– Proactively generalize and share technical approaches and best practices among other developers, and simplify and communicate success stories to broader audiences across the company
– Develop and grow Insurance Analytics practice within the UK working with the leadership team in the UK and globally
Skills:
Technical Skills:
– Experience of working with insurance clients in UK market (General Insurance – personal line, commercial, specialty and London market insurer or Life Insurance)
– Experience of working in agile formats across multiple squads
– Experienced in analyzing large, complex, multi-dimensional datasets with data querying languages (e.g. SQL), BI Tools (MicroStrategy, PowerBI, Tableau, Alteryx, Qlik etc.), programming languages (e.g. Python, Java, Scala, etc.), statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab)
– Experience with one or more insurance policy admin or claims platforms is a plus
– Has at least one or more of the following experiences:
– Building and presenting claims analytics models including fraud, recovery, 3rd party spend optimisation etc.
– Experience in building/managing contact center strategy using data and analytics and recommendation engines for next best action to agents.
– Experience in pricing and underwriting including loss cost modeling, severity modeling, lead prioritisation, NTU and decline analytics
– Experience in actuarial science
– Experience in Marketing Analytics including cross-sell, product recommendation, response-conversion models, attribution modeling, media mix optimisation etc.
– Experience with usage of data and analytics in life, pension, health or group benefits
– Advanced Analytics and Data Modelling – Implementing machine learning techniques and advanced statistical modeling such as Nave Bayes, SVM, Random Forest, and Gradient Boosting. Guiding junior members of the team in building ML solutions

Education Requirements:
– Master’s degree in economics, mathematics, computer science/engineering, operations research or related analytics areas; candidates with BA/BS degrees in the same fields from the top tier academic institutions are also welcome to apply
Work Experience Requirements:
– 8+ years’ experience, preferably in management consulting or Insurance industry in an analytical capacity
– Experience in the Insurance analytics within insurers like Aviva, Admiral, Hastings, Royal London, AIG, Chubb etc. is preferred
– Experience in data analysis and model development
– Experience in team management
– Experience of working in agile formats across multiple squads
