Job Duties:
- Designs, develops, tests and delivers offerings using leading edge and/or proven technologies
- Works in an Agile, collaborative environment to understand stakeholder requirements. Designs, codes, and tests innovative component-level software solution.
- Ensures that the implemented solutions are unit tested and ready to be integrated into their product
- Debugs customer-reported problems: designs, develops and unit tests code fixes.
About the Team
IBM Global Chief Information Security Office (CISO) is looking for a software engineer with experience working with development methodologies and tools to be responsible for custom development to integrate various security technologies within IBM. Engineering developers must be able to take requirements, create a design and turn it into a finished working deliverable. Engineers will work with technical teams to implement next-generation security initiatives and security proof of concepts to improve IBM’s security posture. Experience working with Big Data environments and web development is desirable. Creativity, self-driven, problem-solving, and attention to detail are valuable traits of a successful candidate.
If you are hired into a Colorado or Ithaca, NY work location, the compensation range for this position is between $99,000 and $153,000 based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills and experience. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2 years’ experience in JavaScript, Python, or Shell scripting
- 2 years’ experience in Java programming
- 2 years’ experience with Linux / Unix operating systems
- Ability and interest in learning new tools and technologies
- 3 years’ experience with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, MapReduce, Kafka, Spark, Storm,
- Elasticsearch
- 2 years’ experience in JavaScript, Python, or Shell scripting; Java programming; Linux / Unix operating systems; Ansible or Chef; Full-stack Development
- 1 year experience with: Java frameworks (e.g., spring, hibernate, struts); XML and REST API integration; Relational database design/development (e.g., DB2, MySQL); NoSQL database design/development (e.g., HBase, MongoDB, Cloudant); integrating SAML / Single Sign-On (SSO) / LDAP authentication for applications
- 1 year of experience with Agile development / DevOps methodologies and tools (e.g., GitHub | Travis | JIRA)
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Master’s degree
- Working individually or as a team member may set work priorities within well-established procedures and objectives. May provide coordination of activities. Gives technical direction. Viewed as a technical expert.
