Your Role and Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll work in our IBM Client Innovation Center (CIC), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. These centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.
The role of the Senior Data Analyst is to support data modeling activities as directed by the Lead Data Modeler. As a Senior Data Analyst, you will be responsible for
- Analyzing source system documentation to draft a target data dictionary, identify data patterns (real time, intraday, batch)
- Developing target state data flow and process flow diagrams that will all serve as the primary inputs for modeling the data
- Developing the data modeling inputs in the appropriate context.
- Making specific updates to the data models primarily in terms of data object names and definitions.
The successful candidates for this position will become members of our Client Innovation Team. You will work closely across the CIC network to delight our customers with leading edge solutions with a keen focus on quality and client satisfaction. In addition to strong collaboration across the team, you will be virtually integrated into our deep learning and knowledge program as well as employee engagement across NA. All resources in our CIC network may be requested to travel depending on specific client project needs. US Travel is typically related to knowledge transfer and client relationship building at the client site, as well as subsequent travel for key milestones or project initiatives. Travel is generally no more than 50% of the time.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Experience with Tableau, Congas, and/or PowerBI
- Experience with SQL, Data Structures, Linked Lists, Algorithm basics (Big O notation, comparing and sorting algorithms)
- Experience with Java, Java Script, Python, and Algorithm basics
- Experience with analyzing source system documentation to draft a target data dictionary, identify data patterns (real time, intraday, batch) and develop target state data flow and process flow diagrams that will all serve as the primary inputs for modeling the data.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Experience with Snowflake Pro; Azure and/or AWS.
