Job Title: Senior Data Governance Analyst

As a Senior Data Governance Analyst, you will be part of a technology team supporting the implementation of the enterprise data governance framework, assisting with data policies and procedures, data quality guidelines and metadata maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Support data governance activities of the enterprise data governance team
- Support the implementation of the data governance framework
- Support data governance working groups and management committees
- Capture criteria and metrics to measure data governance policy adoption
- Leverage coding and in house tools to automate data governance processes and activities wherever possible
- Create templates to document data processing systems/applications; help to build and maintain centralized data inventories, data dictionaries and data flows; assign ownership accountability for ongoing maintenance; review submissions for accuracy and completeness
- Regularly interface with various business and technical teams within the organization
Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, IT or related field
- 6-8 years of work experience in data governance / data management
- Proficiency in SQL is a must
- Proficiency in a scripting language is highly desired
- Working knowledge of Unix/Linux is highly desired
- Experience with data management tools and technologies
- Understanding of data governance concepts
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Highly accurate and detail oriented, with ability to work independently
- Excellent organization and time management skills; able to support multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to liaise with colleagues at all levels
- Excellent writing skills; able to create clear documentation and written communications
- Strong ability to extract information by questioning/interviewing and active listening
- Strong presentation and training skills
- Self-starter who takes initiative toward and ownership of issues/challenges as they arise
- Financial industry experience is desired
