Position Summary
IEM is looking for a Full Time – Analyst
Primary Location:
- Candidate must live a commutable distance to San Juan, PR
- Position will be a fully in office role, we cannot accommodate remote work from home
Essential Functions
- Mine and analyze data from customer databases to drive optimization and improvement of constituent services and customer business outcomes.
- Develop program reporting using SQL database management systems.
- Analyze complex, large data sets, develop data analysis, extrapolate conclusions from large data
- Use data to create models that depict trends in the data set as a whole
- Review data for inconsistencies or anomalies that could skew analytical results
- Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.
- Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences and other business outcomes.
- Work with stakeholders to identify opportunities for leveraging and analyzing customer data to help drive the approach and prioritization for the program.
- Maintain databases and conduct routine maintenance as needed to ensure data integrity
- Outline the specific data needs project (e.g., gather end user business requirements)
- Communicate with client teams about data changes or requirements
- Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
- Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes.
- Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.
- Work with management team to create a prioritized list of needs
- Effectively collaborate to understand needs and devise possible solutions including the ability to:
- Identify and recommend efficient streamlined data and reporting processes
- Streamline data collection and analysis procedures to ensure fast access to metrics
- Optimize joint development efforts through appropriate database use and project design
- Communicate results and ideas to key decision makers
- Analyze data and develop and produce routine periodic business reports
- Create executive updates and reports to effectively communicate the vision, priorities, approach, and progress of the program to include status, results, and outcomes.
Current Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Effectively communicate (written and oral) with team members and client stakeholders.
- Advanced to proficient use of all Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, and PowerPoint
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, economics, or another quantitative field
- 3 – 5 years’ experience manipulating data sets and building statistical models and with analytics / reporting / project management
- Proficient in SQL
- Proficient in Tableau or Power BI
- Experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SQL, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills including knowledge of database tools, BI toolsets, and Excel
- Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests, and proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications.
- Experience working with and creating data architectures.
- Knowledge and experience in statistical and data mining, management, or analysis consulting
- Experience visualizing/presenting data for stakeholders using: Periscope, Business Objects, Tableau, etc.
- Strong presentation skills, proficient with PowerPoint and graphical data representation
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills
