Position Summary:

The position of Business Analyst is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating business systems and user needs. This position will assist user departments in developing and managing the solution planning throughout the development lifecycle and independently manage the planning process for smaller projects. The Business Analyst will also complete tasks related to business case development, documenting, and managing user requirements throughout the product development lifecycle.

Requirements:

  • Define, document, facilitate, implement, maintain, and support the product development lifecycle and Information-Systems solutions to meet business needs.
  • Conduct research and analysis of business requirements, problems, and available technologies to define systems solutions that increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Creation of project scopes, use cases, business requirements, and user/process flows.
  • Use appropriate research tools to analyze business requirements and problems.
  • Develop and perform cost-benefit analyses.
  • Devise and/or modify procedures based on computer-equipment capacity and limitations,

operating time, and format of desired results.

  • Apply high level understanding of the business to implement technology solutions.
  • Interface with internal and external business partners, particularly the Information System Department, in developing and documenting business requirements.
  • Participate in user acceptance functions.
  • Influence final decisions that have a direct and moderate to significant impact on Information systems within assigned departments, workgroups and/or business-units.
  • Provide analysis and recommendations.
  • Lead small- to medium-sized, moderately complex projects that impact customer solutions and business-unit operations.
  • Manage schedules, and risk.
  • Resolve a variety of unusual problems, questions and/or situations.
  • Interface with Systems Analysts.
  • Define scope, business-function requirements, and Business-Systems specifications.
  • Participate in testing and implementation activities to ensure attainment of desired product or business systems outcomes (in accordance with established business requirements).
  • Complete and support projects and assignments that require discretion and independent judgment in resolving problems and making recommendations.
  • Compare alternatives and make decisions based upon consideration of all options.
  • Other job-related duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

Essential Skills:

  • Broad knowledge of industry-specific operations, technical groups, systems, and their respective interdependencies.
  • Ability to socialize and present project scopes, use cases, business requirements, and user/process flows.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems, computer technologies and their relationship to business functions, practices, and processes.
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to solicit participation and input from others.
  • Facilitation and Meeting-Management skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Project-Management methodology and practices.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Credit Reporting Agency/Mortgage Industry.
  • Ability to quickly analyze, troubleshoot, and correct perceived problems.
  • Excellent follow-through, ability to develop and implement action plans, and possession of issue resolution skills.
  • High level of initiative, energy, drive, and enthusiasm.
  • An ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s (or equivalent) degree in Information Systems or related field (and/or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of Business Analysis or Systems Analysis, Technical Product Management, and/or related experience
