SAM Technical Consultant – Italy (Remote)

Role Overview
The EMEA Services Delivery function is responsible for delivering professional and managed services to our clients across a full range of technology and software offerings, delivering a scaled, consistent client experience and methodology through four centres of excellence (COE).
Sitting within ‘Licensing Consulting & Software Asset Management (SAM)’ function within EMEA Services, our SAM Consultants act as key contributors, providing the technical delivery/analysis to support on SAM projects and on SAM managed services. We believe that SAM done properly unites businesses by helping control and optimise the use of software across organisations, with our SAM Consultants being at the forefront of that.
Role Responsibilities
- Undertake discovery calls to determine the IT environment and associated considerations with respect to SAM tooling.
- Prepare/deliver scoping requirements with existing/potential clients, acting as a key technical advisor to pre-sales activities.
- Provide technical implementation and configuration services to clients for SAM engagements, including installation/configuration of data connections.
- Work with other Technical Consultants to design/manage both existing and future tooling solutions, including hosted Cloud and on-premise instances.
- Collaborate with other consulting practices within Insight to assess/design and onboard future tooling, compliance and optimisation solutions.
- Perform maintenance checks and technical review activities on existing tooling platforms and installations.
- Maintain and grow knowledge of product evolutions and new technical offerings, both internally and in the marketplace.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of our LCS practice. This may involve supporting solutions to customer specific needs and scenarios.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven commercial experience working with key licensing vendors including Microsoft, SAP, Adobe, VMWare etc.
- Strong experience working with both programming (e.g. SQL/T-SQL, PowerShell, Python) and infrastructure technologies (e.g. Windows Server, IIS, Active Directory etc.).
- Experience working with core SAM tooling including SNOW Software, Flexera, Aspera, ELD etc.
- Good customer-facing skills and experience working with both technical and business-facing stakeholders.
- Experience working with a range of core IT tools/technologies – e.g. ServiceNow, SQL, Microsoft SCCM.
- Excellent communication skills (written & oral).
- Strong commercial experience working with MS Office tools (specifically MS Excel).
- Experience of SAM licensing reconciliation processes, as well as experience executing product functionality demonstrations for various SAM tools (see above).
- Experience working in globally-dispersed teams is a plus (our team mates are spread across EMEA), but not absolutely essential.
Office Locations
Insight has numerous EMEA-based offices in the UK, France, Spain, Italy, Germany and the Netherlands to name but a few. This role will be fully remote however, with preference given to candidates based in Italy due to project demand.
Client Travel & Remote Working
Insight operate a ‘remote-first’ consulting model so you won’t be required to spend time on-site with customers. In terms of remote working, this role will support applicants looking to work fully remotely.
