Role Purpose
In this role, you will be working with business leaders on the commercial side of the business (commercial, revenue management, pricing, reservations, channels, and property) on their data and analytics needs.
This role will be part of the Commercial Data Strategy & Solutions team working closely with the business leaders on understanding their business, technology, and data needs to help them use data to measure and drive critical business outcomes. You will be expected to architect, build, and maintain highly performant data sets and data transformation processes in Google Cloud Platform to be used for operational reporting, dashboarding, analytics, and data science. As a member of this team, you need deep data warehousing architecture and engineering experience coupled with excellent communication skills (written & verbal) to establish, drive, and deliver on data strategy and priorities.
Key Accountabilities
- Partner with business leaders to understand data needs and provide highly accurate, reliable, and performant data solutions to drive critical business operations
- Establish subject matter expertise
- Design, build, and maintain enterprise data models and data transformation pipelines
- Collaborate and influence cross-functionally with extensive data and technology teams to define and execute data strategy and deliverables
- Work closely with project/program management on project deliverables, timelines, and priorities
- Responsible for delivering team projects on time and in a highly accurate, reliable, and performant way
Key Skills & Experiences
Education –
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or a closely related field with 8 years of experience in data engineering or data analytics; or master degree in data analytics, data engineering or closely related field with 6 years of experience and at least 4 years in data engineering or data analytics
Experience –
- Minimum Four (4) years or more relevant SQL coding experience including data management or related areas. Required
- Data engineering, data warehouse development, and ETL engineering expertise – must know how to ingest and transform data into scalable, efficient data architecture.
- Strong skillset and understanding of data warehousing architecture and design patterns
- Highly skilled in SQL and database technology (Google Cloud Platform preferred)
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal) – Must communicate professionally and effectively with engineers, business stakeholders, and cross-functional technology leaders.
- Experience in formal requirements methodologies such as vision, scope, context, use cases, etc.
- Good understanding of Data design concepts, ETL & Data consolidation patterns (Aggregations, De-Normalization, SCD patterns, etc.)
- Strong SQL skills and exposure to GCP Big Query are required.
- Python coding experience is required.
- Contact Center operational and analytical knowledge is a plus.
- GCP tools knowledge: Vertex AI, DataPrep, Looker Studio, Pub/Sub, BitBucket, API & Service integration a plus.
- Experience with Agile tools such as Rally is a plus.
