Job Function
As a Business Reporting Analyst/Developer, you will collaborate and partner with business teams to come up with reporting and analytical solutions to meet their needs. You will be responsible to conceptualize, design, and produce visually compelling business reporting solutions through dashboards, reports, and cubes using reporting tools, applications and queries/scripts. You are passionate about analyzing large data sets, enjoys diving deep into data analysis, discovering root causes and designing long term solutions. We also support the Budgeting and forecasting process.
You will provide reporting and analytical support to the broader finance team and other areas of the organization. You will help to validate business rules and help identify allocation methodologies for Budget and Actual. In addition to validating business rules and allocation methodologies, you will help other analysts gain additional insight by leveraging existing, under-explored data sources.
Major Job Activities and Duties
- Help identify Metrics to track and gather requirements to calculate these metrics and store these values to understand the trends.
- Ensure timely development of Business Reporting/Metrics Dashboards/process improvement across the company while ensuring consistency and standardization across all areas of development.
- Recommend innovative reporting/analyses to peers and business users to support more data driven decision making
- Responsible for combining data from various sources to develop integrated solutions that can be used to drive decision making. Sources of data could be from the Data Warehouse, TM1 and other data.
- Support the daily maintenance of TM1 Planning Analytics. Support tool upgrades as required to keep up with technology.
- Use Excel, R, or Python to analyze large data sets and present findings to stakeholders
- Work closely with the data warehouse team to create new sources of data as required by the business
- Responsible for data mining (SQL) and analytics for enterprise decision support.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and drive for solutions in both Tableau and TM1.
- Develop documentation and provide training on applications and appropriate use of data/information on a periodic basis as well as ad-hoc user support.
- Have an inquisitive nature, to dig in when something does not make sense and always driving for better.
- Perform ad hoc duties as needed based on changing business needs.
Job Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting, Data Science, Management Information Systems or related degree.
Experience:
0-2 year of Financial Analysis/Data Analysis experience
Preferred Skills:
- Hands on system development experience with cube engine tools (TM1, Cognos, Essbase) preferred.
- Hands on system development experience with reporting tools like Tableau preferred
- An understanding of database design and data warehousing concepts
- Programming/scripting experience (SQL, Python,R) and knowledge of software development life cycle.
- Advanced Excel modeling and analytical skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate, organize, and set priorities is critical to success.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and change in a dynamic business environment.
- A work ethic based on a strong desire to exceed expectations.
