We are looking for a creative, innovative, intellectually curious and entrepreneurial Machine Learning Engineer to join our Analytics & Artificial Intelligence (A&AI) Machine Learning Engineering team in 2022. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the world’s leading human data science teams, working with real-world insights to help our clients answer specific questions globally, make more informed decisions, and deliver results. If you are a Data Scientist interested in developing data engineering and machine learning tools and solutions at the forefront of life sciences, you will be in great company with this highly regarded team of experts! The primary focus of the role is to develop ML solutions on highly complex, large-scale medical data to predict answers to healthcare challenges.

Ideally you will have:

• 0-2 years’ experience working on creating machine learning algorithms
• Programming experience using one or more of the following: Python, R, Pyspark
• Knowledge of supervised machine learning methods, such as regularized regressions, ensemble tree classifiers (e.g., XGBoost), support vector machines, etc. Good understanding of classical statistical methods, such as fitting regression models, inference testing and sampling.
• Understanding of coding practices and version control software such as Git, ability to write clean and efficient code, and a good understanding of the Data Science package landscape.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to present technical concepts to a lay audience, write analysis plans for projects, represent ideas effectively and persuasively to clients / internal stakeholders, etc.
• A proactive, innovative and pragmatic approach to problem solving and the ability to think critically and independently, able to work as part of a cross-functional team.

Bonus points for:

• Experience in PySpark is highly beneficial.
• Knowledge of epidemiology / biostatistics, particularly analytical issues relating to studies of treatment effectiveness, disease progression, adherence, healthcare utilization, etc.
• Knowledge of healthcare / life science issues involving Real-World Evidence.
