Job Location: Arden, NC

The Global Supply Chain Team is responsible for the operations and strategic direction of transportation and distribution of merchandise through J.Crew’s multi-channel supply chain.

The Data Analyst will gather data and conducts analysis with the goal of improving the organization’s supply chain operations as well as supporting various initiatives and growth of reporting and visibility tools.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Collect, organize and analyze Supply Chain data to build and manage the Supply Chain database
  • Utilize BI tools to visualize Supply Chain data for Business users
  • Write scripts in SQL to create frontend visualization & using SQL to create quarries – working to direct connect data across J.Crew’s Supply Chain
  • Analyze data to identify problematic areas and suggest improvements
  • Develop successful peak planning tools and strategy with internal and external partners.
  • Support contract negotiation and analysis through data mining and quantitative analysis
  • Identify and prioritize saving opportunities through analytical research of current and historical rates and data.
  • Develop and enhance service levels through scorecards and on time performance measurement tools.
  • Communicate issues effectively and ensure that issues are resolved in a timely manner
  • Prepare and update business reporting as requested by the Supply Chain Team
  • Evolve existing tools for supply chain visibility based on experience and learning’s from role

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required (or equivalent work experience)
  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience with focus on logistics or distribution
  • Supply chain and retail, especially fashion/soft lines, experience a plus
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills required (Excel and Access mandatory)
  • Experience with one or more of the following: C/C ++, SQL and/or PLSQL, UNIX, Oracle 10g, Java, Visual Basic, VB.net, Uniface
  • Must demonstrate critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Self-starter with good judgment and can proactively manage up where appropriate
