2023 Summer Internship -Technology – Data Science Intern

Eligibility
Our next internship program runs through the summer of 2023. We’re looking for students who are working towards a Bachelor’s, and due to complete their studies to be available for a full-time role commencing in 2024.
The role
As an intern with S&P Global DTS/TSG you will undertake work on a real business project intended to add value to your team and our business, as well as provide you with a great learning opportunity.
S&P is looking for driven data science students with strong modeling skills who are comfortable owning and executing data. To be successful you will need the ability to develop, automate, and run analytical models for our systems. During this internship, you will build tools and support structures needed to analyze and dive deep into data. You will have the ability to present your findings to our business partners and help drive improvements. This position requires technical skills to lead integration with structured and semi-structured data sources, integration with BI tools, data lakehouse design and implementation, graphdb implementation, data cataloging, data modeling, and integration of disparate data technologies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reporting to the CIO working on various initiatives
- Collaborating with teammates during technical designs and planning
- Learn and adopt SAFE software development practices as part of our SDLC
- Participate in team test coverage reviews and trainings
- Collaborate with colleagues in design and systems architecture to develop solutions and bring great ideas to life
What We’re Looking For

To be an ideal fit for the role, you should have:
- Working towards a Bachelors degree in a technical field of study in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Data Science
- Demonstrated passion or interest in one or more of our key industries
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- An aptitude to learn and adapt quickly in a rapidly changing environment
- Intellectual curiosity and desire to learn new things, techniques, and technologies
- The ability to build strong working relationships in a collaborative setting
- Programming skills in R and/or Python
- Experience with Machine Learning
- Experience with Graph Data Stores and analysis techniques – GraphDB, Neo4J or Tiger Graph, Data Lake or Google Big Query
- Be legally eligible to work for the duration of the program in the country for which you apply
