Job Description:
Data Domain Vice President: In this position, you will lead initiatives supporting the strategic roadmap of the Consumer Analytic Reporting Infrastructure (CARI) for the Consumer and Business Banking lines of business. CARI provides financial data at a client/individual account level in support of the CFO function as well as Profitability & Analysis and Controller functions. The role requires a strong management, technical and analytical background to work across numerous stakeholder teams to ensure thorough business requirements which produce well-designed, effective modifications to the infrastructure to meet business needs.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Lead enhancement initiatives that cross our two primary lines of business (Consumer and Business Banking) or are foundational building blocks on our roadmap. Current examples include:
- Allocation of FTP and Liquidity Premium charges for Other Assets, Other Liabilities, Equity, Loan Loss Allowance, etc. down to the loan and deposit account level.
- Allocation of unrealized gains/losses on partner investments down to the deposit account level.
- Sourcing of branch reference data, i.e. branch id and related information
- Sourcing of new consumer lending product data into CARI infrastructure
- Field/Banker Profitability Reporting requirements – how associate clients to a division/area/market, restatement requirements when branches move from market expansion into established divisions, etc.
- Work closely with the business users/analysts/data suppliers and subject matter experts to understand requirements and functional needs.
- Create and translate business requirements into prototype solutions for new/enhancement requests, with appropriate standards and operating model.
- Ensure that production results comply with business requirements and expected results.
- Provide a high level of responsiveness to ad-hoc requests, “what-if” scenario data analytics, and regulatory inquiries.
Skills / Competencies Needed/Education Qualifications:
- 8+ years of total experience within MIS, Business Intelligence, and/or Data Analytics roles or related discipline
- Proven project leadership abilities influencing a cross-functional team with Finance, Technology and Operational backgrounds.
- Ability to partner with peer leadership on prioritization, inter-dependencies and test planning.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize complex work to drive results
- Ability to translate information requirements into data sourcing and functional requirements that can be understood by the technical teams required and the ability to explain technical issues in a way business users understand.
- Highly motivated, self-directed
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proven ability to interpret and analyze data, identify anomalies, determine root cause, and recommend solutions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to influence an audience
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications
- Knowledge of and exposure to Agile methodology and governance principles preferred
- Knowledge of data standards and information management framework preferred
- Knowledge of SQL is preferred
- Knowledge of Alteryx, or BI Toolsets, specifically Tableau, is a plus
- AWS, Amazon S3 Data Lake, and Amazon Redshift experience a plus
