This position is primarily responsible for Banking & Wealth Management (BWM) area product ownership reporting into the Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) Finance product owner of Price Elasticity and Optimization with a focus on Consumer Deposits, Small Business Loans and Wealth Management Loans .
The Executive Director within Finance is responsible for pricing strategy, models, and optimization frameworks for BWM . The candidate will lead a team in complex financial and statistical analysis and guide the technology requirements for price optimization covering more than $ 850 B of deposit balances and $30B of loans . The candidate will work closely with multiple pricing directors in achieving objectives and report progress up through the CFO, Product and Business l eadership teams. This opportunity challenges the candidate to support the business through multi-faceted pricing analytics with an emphasis on topics such as valuation and decision-making, competit ive response , and the total customer lifetime value .
The candidate will work cross-functionally in an agile operating model with pricing teams, technology engineers, model developers with statistical, economics and operation research backgrounds, corporate treasury, quantitative data analysts & engineers, other product owners and technology owners, model governance, fair lending/compliance, and other finance partners.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide strategic direction and thought leadership as a critical member of the Price Elasticity and Optimization Product leadership team
- Execute on the vision of multiple Pricing Directors through big data analytics, modeling, and optimization, by guiding multiple quantitative and engineering team members
- Deliver stakeholder updates, road maps, and key risks to CEOs, CFOs, and CROs for every initiative
- Perform analytics related to the price/volume relationship, as well as household growth, new production, and attrition, in order to inform decision-making
- Drive business outcomes through data and analytics, utilizing a data warehouse to inform modeling approaches, understand customer behavior, perform sensitivity analysis and research outliers
- Collaborate across the Data & Analytics and Technology organizations to build a customer centric database of financial information utilized to make efficient and controlled customer-level pricing decisions
- Distill complicated problems and strategies down for audiences across multiple levels of the organization that are not familiar with data, models, optimization or corporate finance principles
- Partner with other area product owners in finance to ensure best practices across the entire organization
- Recruit, retain, coach and develop an outstanding team of finance and analytics professionals across core CCB locations in the United States and India
- Drive the cloud and modernization strategy for the area product across data, model training and model serving
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing cross-functional teams
- Ability to influence and become trusted advisor to executive management
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment, and have passion and intellectual curiosity to find and capture business value
- 10+ years of broad business experience in one or a combination of the following: financial analytics, investment banking, financial services, treasury or loan pricing at a large financial institution or management consulting firm
- Proven record to analyze problems, apply quantitative analytical approaches, and communicate effectively
- BS in Finance or Economics with relevant Masters degree and/or CFA preferred
- Ability to find relationships and identify patterns in large datasets and to see business implications of findings
- Able to converse effectively with a variety of technical peers including data engineering and quantitative modeling teams and translate data into concise and actionable recommendations
- Experience with analytical tools such as SQL, Python, R, MATLAB , or SAS
- Conversant in Machine Learning approaches and how to apply ML to business problems
- Working knowledge of retail banking and products
- Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills
- Familiarity with JIRA, AWS, and Agile/Scrum practices
