Job Description:

Data analytics and execution team is part of Home Lending within CCB Risk organization. Team will be extensively involved in design and development of effective information management solutions for Modeling, Loss Forecasting and Regulatory reporting like CCAR, CECL and ICAAP with highest standards of Data Quality, Data governance and Risk Reporting.

As a Strategic Data Analyst, you’ll drive structure and discipline around each initiative using standard project deliverables and framework, including establishing scope, and perform detailed business impact analysis in support of management decisions. Additionally, you’ll partner with multiple modeling and analytics stakeholders to resolve to ensure data requirements are timely delivered, manage changes to project scope, document and complete Quality requirements, create and manage implementation plans, and participate in meetings.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conducts complex data analysis to identify data anomalies and gaps and implement process improvements and changes
  • Monitor data acquisition from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
  • Responsible for delivery of critical and time sensitive processes with accuracy within agreed timelines
  • Considered a subject matter expect for several processes.
  • Develop complex and efficient data delivery systems from multiple sources and systems (Teradata, Oracle, Hadoop, Flat files…etc.) to augment advanced analytics, modeling and regulatory requirements
  • design, Implement and enhance Quality control monitoring process and documentation.
  • Identify, analyze and interpret data trends or patterns in complex data sets and drive root cause analysis.
  • Identify CDE (Critical Data Elements) and establish key metrics to track performance across months.
  • Responsible for successful delivery of DQF (Data Quality Framework) across months and publish the findings across user community.
  • Adept at root cause analysis and interpret data and analyze using various techniques to identify anomalies and suggest solutions.
  • Maintain or enhance the existing home lending Risk reporting data and ensure timely delivery for user consumption.
  • Track identified data quality issues and drive resolution through constant followups and resolving potential dependencies.
  • Develop, Manage and enhance Key Performance Metrics and Risk Indicators across key areas to provide best in class portfolio monitoring.
  • Develop ownership of critical reports and ensure they are delivered on time and accurate.
  • Actively participate in the HL Controls Working Group to drive the agenda for centralized and comprehensive data Controls implementation across Home Lending.
  • Assist with the Compliance and Controls documentation.
  • Proactively reviews existing process and procedures and highlight gaps in processes.

Qualification/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any Technical discipline.
  • 5 years of relevant experience within Banking / Financial Services / Analytics industry
  • Proficiency in SAS, SQL, Oracle, Unix and Tableau with basic understanding of Big Data solutions (Hadoop, Hive, NoSQL etc.).
  • Hands on experience in Python or other general programing languages.
  • Excellent communication and presentations skills across various stakeholders and senior management
  • Good Technical, Analytical and problem solving skills with ability to manage and prioritize projects across cross functional groups.
  • Understanding of concepts and hands-on experience working with relational databases, cloud based platforms like AWS/Azure/GCP.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, especially in Excel and PowerPoint and VB with ability to present fact-based recommendations in a clear, logical, and concise way, “tell a story” with data.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Banking data and processes is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a high paced environment, be flexible, follow tight deadlines, organize and prioritize work.
  • Be a team player who shows commitment and dedication, and can maintain a positive attitude and high-level of performance on high-profile/time-sensitive initiatives
