Job Location: Bangalore
The Product Delivery (aka, Business Analyst) team within Digital works at the intersection of business and technology, allowing you to sharpen your understanding of business processes and data analysis, while continuing to develop your leadership, management and communication skills. This role plays a pivotal part in the success of the organization, bridging the gap between the development, design and product teams. In this role, you will work closely with the Business Owners, User Experience Designers, Content Strategists and Product Managers to translate their vision into technical requirements for development. You will also work with Architecture, Software Development and Test teams to ensure that all are working with a common understanding of the software being built.
This role is one of relationship builder, negotiator and problem solver.
Responsibilities
This role is ultimately responsible for partnering with the Area Product Owner to create, refine and maintain a healthy backlog of user stories which are easily understood by the consuming team(s). Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Forming strong bonds and a healthy working relationship with the feature team they are assigned to.
- Collecting user requirements and feedback from Area Product Owners and Tech Leads in formal and informal settings.
- Performing in depth analysis for fact finding on existing behavior of the system (including business logic and end-to-end data flow) and educating stakeholders to help ensure the build of comprehensive, robust requirements.
- Refining stories to a level of detail that will enable code to be written and tested without defects or requirements gaps; write acceptance criteria and generate test scripts.
- Partnering with content team for content management for final content readiness.
- Managing JIRA process and accompanying Confluence documentation – including maintaining a living evergreen repository so we always have an understanding of our current state.
- Managing product backlog along with Product Owners – including having 2 sprints backlog refined and partnering with Scrum Master on sequencing.
- Working closely with UX teams on design of new features and components.
- Running effective JAD sessions and/or feature team refinement sessions.
- Juggling multiple stories at any given time, all with aggressive delivery expectations.
- Building relationships with ‘co-supplier’ stakeholders from multiple regions (including ‘off-shore’) and products areas.
Qualifications:
We are looking for a quick learner with strong attention to detail who has a strong work ethic, is a self-starter who is creative and analytical with a ‘can-do’ attitude. This person should enjoy working within a team while also being independently driven to maintain their workload within the balance of the sprint and release schedules.
- Bachelor’s Degree Required
- Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience as a Business Systems Analyst, System Analyst, or Technical Analyst, with heavy emphasis on technology and implementation understanding
- Strong verbal and written communication is critical since this job primarily entails communicating technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong quantitative and analytical problem solving skills
- Experience working with Agile Development teams
- Experience with software development methodologies and practices (SDLC, Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, etc.)
- Behavioral Driven Development (BDD) using for example Gherkin scripting language.
- General knowledge of financial services concepts and products
- Strong interpersonal skills to manage relationships with a variety of partners and stakeholders
- Proficiency in MS-Office products (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
- Ability to receive and act upon feedback
Preferred Knowledge and Experience
- Retail/Consumer banking and investment products.
- Web service and database technologies.
- Programming Languages (JavaScript, Kotlin, Swift preferred).
- Appreciation of responsive web design.
- Experience of working with JIRA, Adobe Experience Manager, and Figma
- Understanding of Quality Assurance best practices and various types of testing
