How You Will Fulfill Your Potential

  • Seeking a full-stack engineer to assist in building the strategic liquidity risk management infrastructure for one of the largest financial institution in the country.
  • The target platform will process daily several millions transactions and positions, calculate risk presented by the current actual as well as model-based future states of the market, and provide ability to analyze the profile in real time.
  • This is a great opportunity for engineers who want to work on building cloud native platforms from the ground up. Engineers will work on building the next generation distributed systems as well as modern reporting architecture. The platform will utilize massively computing platform with ability to scale horizontally, partitioning and pipelining, modern in-memory, non-relational data management principles, and will be completely cloud native.
  • Lead the design, development, and on-going support for cloud-native applications and services; this includes guiding and mentoring junior engineers, performing code reviews, managing pull requests, managing incident resolutions, etc
  • Identify, define, and promote cloud-native development standards, best practices, patterns, and lead the implementation of these standards
  • Manage the planning and estimation of the epics, user stories, and tasks within the platform development backlog; take an active role in release and milestone planning activities
  • Engage with peer engineers throughout the organization and help drive the development and sustaining of a Cloud Center of Excellence
  • Communicate the on-going status and work with management to ensure timely delivery using an Agile-based methodology and Atlassian (e.g. JIRA, Confluence, etc) toolset

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and supporting highly available, scalable, and secure cloud services and applications that run natively on a major public cloud; experience with Amazon Web Services considered an advantage
  • 8+ years of experience in Java and its related ecosystem; consideration will be given to languages other than Java but it is expected that the majority of development will be in Java
  • 8+ years of experience working with one or more database types: relational, analytical, columnar, document-oriented, graph, et cetera. Experience with the AWS database ecosystem considered an advantage
  • 5+ years of experience working in Git source control and its related ecosystem; GitLab experience considered an advantage

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing, developing, and operating reactive microservices within a larger event-driven architecture; experience with containers and container orchestration and/or serverless computing paradigms offered within the AWS ecosystem considered an advantage
  • Experience with high-throughput messaging technologies and stream-based processing patterns; experience with Apache Kafka and related technologies considered an advantage
