Key responsibilities include:
- Leverage big data assets to develop insights and quantify opportunities in line with our strategic initiatives
- Extract and quantify data-informed insights to help define opportunities and shape strategic Customer Data Domain initiatives (Enhance Customer Identity Mgmt, Deliver One Chase Experiences, etc…)
- Perform advanced root cause analysis to better understand complex issues and anomalies and identify viable data-informed solutions to remediate data quality issues
- Ensure availability of high quality and usable customer-level data and insights
The candidate must exhibit a thorough understanding of data structures, data manipulation, metadata, data security, and data quality management. In addition, the candidate must develop a strong understanding of CCB businesses, functions, systems, data environments, and processes that are necessary for the production and utilization of customer data.
The candidate must have the ability to partner with stakeholders inside and outside of the department to understand their needs and design and develop robust analytic data solutions that meet and/or exceed customer expectations. The ideal candidate will possess data analysis skills, data visualization skills, an understanding of data science, and a commitment to producing high quality results.
Other responsibilities will include the following:
- Facilitate use case & requirements definition, design, testing, and implementation of new data assets and analytic capabilities that address specific business needs
- Profile, wrangle, and prepare data from diverse sources to support analytical efforts
- Write data transformation logic in languages such as Python, SparkSQL, and Spark.
- Conduct business process analysis and identify data needed to support the processes and determine whether the firm’s data is fit for use within a given process
- Conduct research and development with emerging technologies, determine their applicability to business use cases, document & communicate their recommended use in the firm
Educational Requirement
The candidate must have an educational background in Data Analytics, Computer Science, MIS, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline. In addition, the candidate must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience or a Master’s degree with 2 years of experience.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience as a lead or key participant on data analysis and data engineering related efforts
- 3+ years working with extremely large data sets in the Hadoop big data processing stack using SparkSQL, Hive, Spark, Python, and Sqoop
- Advanced analytical thinking and problem solving skills
- Advanced knowledge of visualization tools (e.g. Tableau)
- Understanding of Hadoop-related technologies & their applications
- Excellent command of the SQL language
- Technical understanding of common RDBMS systems; (e.g. Teradata, Oracle)
- Knowledge of version control tools and processes (e.g. Subversion, Git)
- Must have ability to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines and be comfortable manipulating and summarizing large quantities of data
Preferred Skills
- In-depth knowledge of consumer and wholesale banking data
- Knowledge of the consumer lending lifecycle, including loan origination, sale/servicing, default management/loss mitigation
