General Summary
The Data Analytics Intern is a creative problem solver who utilizes sales, business, product, and operations data to perform analysis and create visualizations, and uses modeling skills to uncover and present insights that will significantly and meaningfully impact business decisions and actions. Successful candidates will have good communication and critical thinking skills, and the ability to break down complex problems. The intern will complete end-to-end one or more data analysis and/or visualization projects with immediate business impact.
Primary Responsibilities
- Engage and participate in leadership workshops covering topics such as: Mentorship, Professional Development, and Networking opportunities
- Create and design and a “Kapstone” project that will have a direct impact on the business
- Interns must be available for the 10-week program from (June 5, 2023 – August 7, 2023)
- Successful internships may result in full-time employment with Kaplan upon graduation and completion of a Bachelor’s degree.
- Extract, manipulate, analyze & interpret data using SQL and R or Python.
- Collect project requirements from subject matter experts in the business units.
- Write and maintain documentation including project planning, process, and outcomes.
- Visualize data using R or Python, and Tableau.
- Collaborate with analytics team members to investigate issues and scope out solutions.
- Present impact, insights, outcomes & recommendations to key business partners and stakeholders.
Education & Experience
- Currently enrolled in Bachelor’s degree program graduating in Spring 2024 with analytical coursework, including (but not exclusively) STEM fields
- Active student at Xavier University of Louisiana or Kaplan Educational Foundation Scholar
- Demonstrated academic achievement
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Enthusiastic and has a growth mindset, ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and priorities, adaptable, a critical thinker, organized and collaborative
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Excel or Google Sheets to manipulate data

Kaplan is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All positions with Kaplan are paid at least $15 per hour or$31,200 per year for full-time positions.
