Job Description
Kaplan North America is looking for an Assessment Data Analyst to join the Learning Analytics and Psychometrics team . To succeed in this position, the Assessment Data Analyst will need to understand, interpret, and manipulate various data sources to answer assessment and learning analytics questions. The selected candidate will be expected to field data questions from stakeholders, work with them to refine those questions and prioritize their requests. Other duties will include gathering requirements, coding, testing, and presenting analyses, collecting feedback, and iterating as needed. The position requires an experienced, highly motivated, self-driven and creative individual, able to multi-task independently under deadlines. The focus of this role will be to support and conduct data related tasks on Kaplan North America’s learning and assessment products.
This is a key role on a team critical to the success and growth of Kaplan North America. Psychometrics and Learning Analytics help drive product design and creation and this position will allow the candidate to play a crucial role in building the product and services offered in the future. This team will enable proper assessment functioning across all product lines and be responsible for algorithm, machine learning and artificial intelligence applications within the Kaplan North America technology ecosystem.
Responsibilities:
- Extract, manipulate, analyze & interpret data from various data sources to support the learning analytics and psychometric projects
- Consult with psychometricians, assessment and content specialists, product owners, data engineers and other stakeholders to ensure the problem is accurately defined and solved.
- Contribute to preparation and development of analysis plan and specifications.
- Contribute to evaluation, implementation and development of data analysis procedures and systems.
- Present results and outcomes to stakeholders with actionable insights and recommendations
- Participate in best practice sharing and communication for advancement of the data analysis functions
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in statistics, educational data science, educational technology, computer science, mathematics or a closely related field
- 1-3 years of experience in data extracting, cleaning, manipulation, analysis and visualization
- Strong programming skills in R or Python
- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills of applied statistical modeling, including multiple linear regression, predictive modeling, data mining, machine learning.
- Experience and knowledge of SQL
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
