ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Must communicate with senior management to understand their business requirements and goals as well as being able to convincingly recommend IT solutions.
  • Gather, validate, and refine complex business requirements to understand strengths, weaknesses into IT functional and technical specifications.
  • Identify opportunities to automate processes and functions to simplify and enhance the user experience.
  • Leverage internal business intelligent tools to deliver data-driven recommendations, reports, findings, and presentations to internal stakeholders.
  • Enable decision making by retrieving and aggregating data from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible and actionable format.
  • Create key performance indicators and new methodologies for process improvement.
  • Analyze existing metrics for trends and where necessary create new metrics.
  • Stay up to date on the latest process and technology advancements to automate and modernize systems.
  • Active participation during system developing and testing phases.
  • Develop test plans and coordinate/perform software or/and applications testing.
  • Encourage and facilitate communication with the stakeholders, business units, development teams, testing teams and the IT organization.
  • Assist Project Managers on developing project plans.
  • Determine feasibility, cost/benefit analysis and technical viability.
  • Providing leadership, training, coaching, and guidance to junior staff.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Background in analyzing and developing insights from data by using SQL, analytics, and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, ThoughtSpot, Looker).
  • Experience using Analysis techniques, such as, SWOT, MOST, BPM, CATWOE, MoSCoW, etc.
  • Solid knowledge of Agile Methodologies.
  • Detailed oriented with strong analytic, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Able to lead business and requirements analysis phases for solution development
  • Discovery, scope definition, business analysis plan, detailed requirements, implementation, testing, communication, etc.
  • Should possess solid expertise and business acumen as well as a good understanding of the IT organization’s systems and capabilities.
  • Ability to work well under pressure to handle multiple priorities
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Obsessed with quality, operational excellence, and supporting the business users
  • Experience building custom reports and analytics to support the direction of the business
  • Experience providing recommendations based on results of the analysis performed
  • Experience with business intelligence and data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI).
  • Experience performing root cause analysis to uncover issues using data and reports
  • Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems and databases
  • Experience working in large data warehouse environments
  • Experience taking a leading role in building a complex software system
  • Understanding of corporate audit programs (such as SOX) and ensuring system and procedure experience a plus.
  • Experience developing custom SQL to pull data to derive insights to be used to influence business decisions (a plus)


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in STEM, Finance, Business, Technology, or a similar discipline with analytical bias.
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience as a business analyst, financial analyst, or similar position requiring analysis.
  • 2+ years of experience in data analytics while interpreting and communicating analytics.
  • Business Analysis Certifications (CALBA, CELBA) is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience with SAP (a plus).
  • 2+ years of experience writing SQL (a plus).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to simplify complex topics for broad audiences, both business and technical teams.
  • Ability to think abstractly and deal with ambiguous/undefined problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage tradeoffs and evaluate opportunistic new ideas.
  • Demonstrated track record of creative problem solving; thinks big, starts small, grows fast.
  • Capable of taking responsibility for an initiative and working with minimal direction
