Summary
Key position within the Landstar Safety and Compliance Teams, which is comprised of Operator Compliance, Equipment Compliance, Hazmat, Logs, Drug Testing, Safety & Loss Prevention.Responsible for data management, reporting, and analytics. Perform business analysis using various techniques, e.g. statistical analysis, explanatory, and predictive modeling, and data mining.
Essential Requirements
- Research best practices and support developing the solutions and recommendations for Landstar
- Work with internal or external clients to identify analytical requirements as needed
- Support the selection and development of systems to support the needs of the department and data analytics
- Provide business data interpretation
- Produce ad hoc data and reports
- Other duties as assigned
Safety Services – ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Extract data from databases and define and track key department metrics by developing a set of repeatable daily/weekly/monthly reports covering operational and financial performance
- Creation, management, and analysis of financial models
- Undertake assigned projects and report findings to management promptly
- Coordinate and lead the timely compilation and preparation of forecast and budget
- Present data analysis and resulting recommended business decisions to management
Required Skills
- Proficient in Word and PowerPoint, advanced Excel skills
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated history of autonomously developing new insights from data
- Experience managing projects and ability to prioritize assignments
- Strong communication skills with ability to develop visualizations based on data analysis results
Preferred Skills
- Public speaking
- Knowledge of transportation laws and regulations
- Working knowledge of PowerPoint and AS/400
- Proficiency in Cognos Business Intelligence Tools
- SQL experience
Education, Certifications, And Experience
- Associate’s degree (A. A.) from a two-year college or technical school required in math, statistics, business, logistics or related field
- One to three years of analytical experience required, preferably in the transportation industry
