We’re looking for an Intermediate Business Analyst responsible for assisting in the delivery and support of business solutions utilizing Information Technology. Support areas of Warehouse Management, Logistics, Transportation and any other business functions needed using SAP and other business application software.
Our corporate headquarters is located in Chicago, IL. Employees work two days in the corporate office and can work remotely the remaining three days of the workweek. We offer 401k plus vision, dental and medical benefits, as well as a paid holiday and PTO package.
Responsibilities:
- Manage relationships between business partners and the IT department relative to requirements, solutions, and priorities.
- Develop and maintain advanced knowledge of the capabilities and functions of the assigned application software. Use this knowledge to recommend optimal solutions for business requirements leveraging the products (SAP and supporting software) using best practice methodologies.
- Assess cross-functional impact of changes to business processes.
- Assist in all aspects of solution development and deployment activities with the exception of coding. Emphasis will be on scope definition, requirements definition, system configuration, testing, and deployment.
- Develop and documents new processes and solutions.
- Perform system support activities and ensure production support service levels are met.
- Assist in upgrade & migration activities, ensuring these meet business requirements and goals.
- Create training documents and system documentation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in SAP WM area
- Project management skills. Capable of managing concurrent projects successfully. The projects may involve multiple resources and can be up to 500 hours of effort for the total team.
- Communication – Strong written and oral communication skills, as well as presentation skills. Ability to communicate complex ideas in plain language. Good listening skills and ability to fully understand concepts by asking good questions.
- Collaboration skills.
- Problem Solving: Methodical and disciplined approach that emphasizes the long-term perspective.
- SME with respect to assigned software and development tools.
- Business acumen – ability to separate high value initiatives from low value and articulate the difference.
- Influence – Need to inspire confidence and credibility and be willing and able to influence others’ opinions where appropriate
- Ability to work with third party vendor resources.
Technical strengths:
- Understanding of SAP configuration skills in SAP WM.
- Good understanding of SAP data structures relevant to the areas of SAP WM.
- Ability to translate business needs into terms technical experts can easily understand and respond to.
- Demonstrate ability to grasp newer technologies relevant to the area assigned (WM & Non WM).
- Utilize Software Development Life Cycle best practices to manage project activities.
- Any experience in other modules of SAP (Q2C, P2P & Finance) strongly preferred.
Other:
- Strong understanding of business concepts for the functional areas to be supported.
- Ability to interact with personnel at all levels of the company to obtain, analyze, and discuss business intelligence processes and solutions.
- Must be able to query and analyze business data – either through SQL or 3rd party tool
