The Sr. ML Engineering Technical Product Manager role is within the Data and AI Technology organization. You will work with the data scientists and business stakeholders from across the company to develop a deep understanding of their needs for a ML Platform and help drive the implementation of it within the tech organization. You will collaborate and work very closely with Data Science, Platform and Data Engineering Leaders in helping us design and build a highly reliable and scalable cloud native AI/ML platform. You will be a bridge between the business/science communities and the machine learning engineers.
Responsibilities:

Product discovery for building a scalable ML Platform

Build product briefs for talking through the discovery along with a potential solution

Create a prioritized list of requirements for the ML Platform

Collaborate with the stakeholders and engineers on building a roadmap

Communicate the progress to all the stakeholders on a regular basis

Be the voice of the customer (data scientists) internal to the ML Engineering team

Play the role of a product owner of the ML Platform. Be technical enough to understand and articulate the pros and cons of the ML platform being built, the choice of tech, etc

Research and understand the pros and cons of other tech (databricks, etc) and articulate why one tech is better than the other. Stay on top of the ML Eng tech landscape by reading blogs and participating in conferences, etc.

Build easy to use and comprehensive documentation to highlight what the ML Platform is, how it works, what use cases it supports, how to onboard onto it, etc. Basically all the details a data scientist would need to get up and running

Release notes for any new impactful new features or capabilities built by the team

Help build a brand in the company around ML Engineering and the services we provide. Highlight the business impact we have

Evangelize the use of ML in all aspects of Levi’s business
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years overall technology industry experience. Atleast 2 years working in data and/or Machine Learning vertical
- 5+ years as a technical product manager
- Solid understanding of data science
- Strong understanding of business processes and prior experience of building ML Platforms is a great plus
- Strong experience working with cloud native services such as Sagemaker, Vertex AI, etc.
- Documenting use cases, requirements and functional specifications
- Quickly translate requirements to prototype and get business support
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline/experience. Masters and/or Phd is preferred.
