Job Location: Remote
- Understand data definitions and manage datasets to incorporate into the reserving process, thereby improving methodologies and analytics
- Validate data and results, partnering with the data strategy team to investigate, quantify and communicate drivers of data changes and their resulting impacts and potential risks
- Gain knowledge of reserving software and reserving methodologies and processes in order to develop effective metrics and tools for reserve analysis and indications
- Build dynamic tools that assist in evaluating complex business problems
- Work collaboratively with Reserving and other partners and stakeholders using strong communication skills and continuous improvement mindset
- Champion innovation efforts within GRM Actuarial Reserving
Qualifications
Preferred Skills:
- Strong knowledge of actuarial techniques and standards a plus
- Strong attention to details, with special attention to accuracy
- Effective communication skills; proven ability to interact effectively with individuals and other teams
- Strong technical skills including proficiency with Excel, SAS/SQL, Power BI and data manipulation
- Experience with Python or similar software a plus
- Displays effective research, problem solving, analytical, critical thinking, influencing, relationship management, and presentation skills.
- Ability to support change and impart value within an organization.
- Solid project management skills as part of implementing business process changes. Strong knowledge of Excel.
- Knowledge of available data sources, strengths and shortcomings. Solid knowledge of database software preferred.
- Competencies typically acquired through a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in addition to 2+ years of relevant experience to include business analysis work.
- Solid business operations knowledge to include understanding the function’s value chain and market conditions.
- Knowledge of business intelligence tools preferred.
