Job Detail:
- Develop and/or configure software as a key contributor within an Agile team, with an emphasis on ongoing code quality & process improvements (performance analysis, code optimization, troubleshooting/debugging application errors, unit/load testing)
- Develop ETL processes, and implement data standardization and quality solutions
- Identify, analyze, and coordinate high visibility process engineering initiatives to improve speed-to-market of major product launches
- Analytically evaluate problems and potential solutions, often involving coding changes, and work with minimal supervision to implement those solutions
- Drive forward cross functional projects, often ambiguously defined, and advocate for solutions that improve the speed and accuracy of new product launches
- Provide subject matter expertise on the appropriate tools and techniques to perform analysis
- Perform application monitoring and troubleshooting of application errors
- Serve as team member and may lead medium-term and/or moderate complexity projects
- Identify industry trends to ensure our software solutions are best-in-class
- May be assigned to mentor junior team members and/or manage vendors
Qualifications
Preferred Skills:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in technical or business discipline or equivalent experience, quantitative or technical degrees preferred
- Consultative skills, including the ability to understand and apply customer requirements, including drawing out unforeseen implications and making recommendations for design
- Collaboration, prioritization, and adaptability skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills; presentation skills
- Proficient in negotiation, facilitation and consensus building skills
- Proficient in two or more of the following: Excel, VBA, PowerPoint, SQL, Snowflake, or data analysis software (e.g., Power BI, SAS).
- Preferred: Strong coding/software engineering background, with experience in an object-oriented language (Java, Python)
- Nice to have: Experience with insurance pricing software
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, economics, statistics, or other quantitative field.
- Minimum 2 year’s relevant experience, typically 3 years.
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical software packages (e.g., SAS, Emblem).
- Must have good planning, organizational, analytical, decision making and communication skills.
