The Opportunity
Reporting into the Commercial Excellence Americas organization, the Channel Analyst will be a key partner to Americas Channel team by ensuring clear market understanding and by delivering analytical support to drive results across National and Regional Retail, Wholesale, Mail Order and Ecommerce Classes of Trade. The Channel Analyst will join the Commercial Excellence Americas team which supports the regions Commercial business and its senior management through the development and delivery of key commercial processes and analytics. The Channel Analyst will drive the development and delivery of key business measures, building insight as the result of hands-on data management and integration. This Individual will be able to effectively navigate multiple data services spanning LifeScan’s value chain to build transparency and visibility into current results and future trends. The Channel Analyst will have exposure to senior executives and will participate in company-wide projects and initiatives. This position will be based in the LifeScan U.S. Headquarters in Malvern, PA.
Job Focus And Responsibilities
- Support monthly performance reporting, forecasting and trend analysis. Analytical support will include data extraction and regular interaction with several retailer data portals and commercial data service providers (e.g Symphony, Nielsen, Integrichain, CVS, Walmart, IRI, etc..)
- Provide detailed variance analysis, using data from various systems, and determine cause of change.
- Create, implement, and maintain information tools to be used by Commercial and Marketing teams to better understand underlying market activity in ways that are responsive to business needs, but do not require extensive technical or analytical abilities on the part of the business user.
- Gain deep understanding of business, helping to identify underlying market trends and to distill into a clear, concise analysis.
- Support Channel goal setting and attainment processes.
- Design analytical services for monitoring performance, measurement, competitive segmentation and customer analysis as well as promotional impact.
- Create standard and ad hoc reporting to support Retail, Wholesale, Mail Order and Ecommerce decision making.
- Identify and implement process improvements to drive standardization and consistency in reporting across the Americas region.
- Work in conjunction with the Finance, Marketing and other stakeholder groups to ensure the timely flow of information and support business continuity.
- Play key role in Commercial planning cycles to ensure standardized and timely submissions, adherence to deadlines, and monitor data integrity across systems.
- Possess strong analytical skills and advanced technical capabilities including experience with Tableau, Excel and MS Office products.
- Build strong, productive relationships with other groups in the organization and demonstrate the ability to work with teams and individuals.
- Thrive in a dynamic environment with tight timelines and multiple deliverables.
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Marketing, Finance or related business field is required.
- Prior pharmaceutical, biotech, consulting or field sales and general knowledge of sales / marketing processes preferred.
- Knowledge of data suppliers such as IMS, IRI, Symphony, IQVIA, Nielsen, Walmart, Amazon, CVS, Walgreens would be beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal / analytical skills with ability to integrate data from multiple sources.
- Strong communication skills are required – ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences, experience presenting analysis results to senior management.
- Proactive approach to data management and analysis that seeks to uncover new insights, connect the dots among various information sources, thinks strategically about the business by uncovering new learning continuously.
- Desire to learn and wiliness to grow through experience and hands on application.
- Diabetes knowledge is a plus.
