The Role at a Glance:
As a Fixed Income Senior Analyst you will be responsible for more complex analysis and reporting of the general account fixed income portfolio and supporting portfolio managers in their day-to-day management of the fixed income portfolio. You will also be a key contributor in the preparation of committee level communication and presentations.
What you’ll be doing:
- Works closely with portfolio managers and external asset managers for daily management and oversight of fixed income portfolios.
- Researches and analyzes relevant investment and portfolio information utilizing both internal and external sources that help drive portfolio management decisions
- Analyzes and supports credit risk management strategies for corporate bonds and structured
- products balancing income and capital preservation.
- Monitors investment guidelines and strategies and actively seek enhancements to optimize portfolio management process
- Ensures data integrity and develops procedures for increased automation.
- Maintains knowledge of current and emerging developments in the fixed income market.
- Serves as a subject matter expert to team members on assignments and projects for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility
- Builds portfolio monitoring reports and analyzes data utilizing Tableau, Bloomberg and other internal/external data/resources to support key stakeholders’ decision making
- Prepares PowerPoint presentations for analysis findings and recommendations.
- Collaborates routinely with key internal and external stakeholders to aid portfolio construction and monitoring
- Promotes and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.
- Identifies and communicates to management process improvements that reduce workloads or improve quality for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
- Carries out duties in compliance with all state and federal regulations and guidelines.
What we’re looking for:
Must-haves:
- Undergraduate degree or 4+ years of comparable work experience.
- 5-7+ years of experience in investments, portfolio analysis or investment research that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position.
- Critical thinker and a genuine interest in conducting complex analysis for investment portfolio management
- Advanced MS PowerPoint and Excel skills
Nice-to-haves:
- Strong understanding of fixed income asset classes, asset allocation, equity markets, alternatives, and market analysis.
- Advanced knowledge of investment research and analytic tools.
- Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to use sound judgment and discretion regarding confidential information.
- Solid project management skills including critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Tableau, and Bloomberg.
