A Sr Meter Data Analyst provides research and data analysis on electric metering to other LCRA
departments as well as wholesale electric customers, by retrieving data from metering points, validating the data for accuracy, performing medium to complex edits, as necessary. Develops and maintains positive and effective customer relationships along with communicating and presenting LCRA energy data to wholesale customers. This position utilizes knowledge and experience in own discipline but is still building higher-level knowledge and skills.
You will be trusted to:
- Performs daily analysis of graphs and validations for all LCRA meters to detect existence of data anomalies. Performs edits of revenue meter data, using established tools, for consistent loads to produce LCRA’s wholesale power bill.
- Performs billing process to produce settlement/billing quality data upload to internal/external customers
- Recognizes typical graph patterns of meter data, and research atypical data using established tools, such as netting schemes, redundant meters, System Operations Control Center (SOCC) reports, outage reports and calls to customers’ metering groups.
- Runs forecasting report, using MV-90 and exports to Lodestar, the billing system.
- Researches forecasting anomalies using graphs, validations and nets that are run out of MV90 and correlating daily reports from SOCC.
- Interfaces with customers in person and on the phone responding to data questions, problem solving or providing additional information to better support their business needs.
- Escalates complex situations to more experienced employees.
- Troubleshoots problems and assists in coordinating work schedule for maintenance and/or repair of field devices.
- Logs edits for documentation in database logs and spreadsheets.
- Executes customer reports using MV90 to aggregate data, and determines what format to use to compile, based upon customer needs.
- Diagnoses and troubleshoots basic MV-90 related problems and interfaces with vendor as necessary.
You qualify with:
- Five or more years of experience in data collection, data manipulation, database software, data analysis, or electric utility operations, including experience with MV-90 specifically using summary mapping, data aggregation and master file maintenance components.
- A degree(s) in applied sciences, electrical power, electronics, engineering, or computer science or relevant field or equivalent experience or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.

- Knowledge of ERCOT protocols and data requirements
- Knowledge of LCRA and customer metering schemes and communication interfaces

- Senior skill level in reading electrical system one lines and station prints to arrive at correct conclusions regarding system outages and customer load swapping
- Knowledge of low-side distribution system operations.

- Skill in verbal and written communication
- Basic skill level in office productivity applications (such as email, word processing, spreadsheets, etc.)
