Job Summary:
The primary purpose of this role is to provide insightful understanding of consumer decision-making, utilizing advanced qualitative and quantitative customer research to inform decisions made by senior leadership. This position leads the customer insights team who are responsible for conducting research and creating tools in order to derive meaningful, innovative, and valuable insights into consumer behavior for Lowe’s business.
Customer Insight & Analytics (CI&A) is a 70-person team located in Mooresville, NC (a suburb of Charlotte) and Bangalore, India. CI&A rolls up to the VP of Data, Analytics and Customer Insights (DACI). The DACI organization was recently redesigned to foster strong partnership between Insights, Analytics, Data Science and Engineering and to better enable customer understanding to drive all that Lowe’s does. This will set the quality of our insights and analytics efforts apart from other retailers (both brick & mortar and online), and in turn, CI&A will help steer the future success of Lowe’s and its affiliates.
- Defining key gaps of customer knowledge and research methodologies for Lowe’s and setting vision for how to address these gaps.
- Partnership with key business partners on most strategic Lowe’s initiatives, translating business needs to how Customer Insights will deliver research so that the customer is at the center of decision making.
- Integrate knowledge across the CI&A team to bring relevant insights to DACI and the whole of the Lowe’s business.
- Manage the $12 million research budget in the most effective manner while addressing the key needs of the business.
- Coaching and growing Customer Insights team including designing training and recruiting strategies.
- Serve as external face of Lowe’s customer knowledge at key conferences and recruiting events.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Statistics, Econometrics, Information Sciences, Applied Quantitative or related field
- 12 years’ of experience in market research field
- 10 years’ of leading teams and proven business impact
- Demonstrated business leadership and experience in managing 10+ person research teams
- Experience working with analytic software (e.g., SPSS, Wincross, etc.)
- Master’s degree in in related field
- Experience applying behavioral science/shopper psychology to research questions
- Experience working in a retail environment
- Experience managing global team

Pay Range for Colorado, New York, and New Jersey : $116,300.00 – $193,800.00 annually
