Data Governance Analyst
For our team based in Fort Mill, South Carolina we are currently recruiting for a Data Governance Analyst Position in our Reference Data & Analytics Team. Reference Data & Analytics is part of the Benchmarks & Indices Operations. Reporting to the Director, Global Head of Data for Index of the London Stock Exchange Group (“LSEG”), this Data Governance role will learn more about supporting people, processes, and technology efficiently so that LSEG can implement and operationalize the Enterprise Data Governance Program.
The Data Governance Analyst will support the Financial Conduct Authority Benchmarks Supervision Team (“FCA”) to reduce costs and risks, to increase efficiencies and to improve services and products. The role will also serve as a junior educator to LSEG for data governance.
Role Purpose
Responsible for effectively executing tasks related to the design, development and implementation of the Financial Conduct Authority Benchmarks Supervision Team’s policy, standards, procedures and corresponding operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Learns how to be a SME on data governance and key principles and begins to use industry best practices to improve efficiencies, risk reduction, business opportunities and growth in support of the LSEG mission
- Supports the Financial Conduct Authority Benchmarks implementation roadmap including strategic priorities for development of data governance as a service for our businesses and corporate functions
- Helps and works with staff at various levels and may help to support on/off boarding processes, as necessary
- Supports the current data policy framework including the charter, group data policy, standards, procedures and playbooks, and acts as an implementation expert to business partners and corporate functions
- Helps to support change management projects with creating and managing applicable processes
- Supports the data literacy, education, and training activities related to the Financial Conduct Authority Benchmark Program
- Supports metadata strategy to include business data dictionaries, glossaries, and catalogs for use within LSEG, as needed. This may include entering and managing the metadata into various tools.
- Helps SMEs and managers by using an already identified process to manage Critical Data Elements (CDEs) in a central Repository and associated business processes
- Support managers and leaders by supporting the iterative development of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), metrics and other management reporting needs, as needed
Key Behaviors and Skills Required to be successful in the Role:
Working Experience
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a major services organization, with data or project management, or other related experience.
- Demonstrated experience with data management initiative, regardless of role
- Introductory knowledge of data governance industry best practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise data assets and approaches related to data protection.
- Basic understanding of data related government regulatory requirements and emerging trends and issues
- Knowledge of the how to document and manage issues logs related to data governance.
Education
- Bachelors or master’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Management, or Information Sciences
- Data Quality, Management, IT, Data Science or Governance training or other relevant Certifications
