The Role

If so, then look to join the Lumen Technologies SLED Security Operations Center as a Security Operations Center Analyst – Federal.
The Main Responsibilities
The Operations Technician II will work with our team supporting a state civilian agency’s Security Operations Center (SOC). As Operations Technician II, you will be given the opportunity to learn from an experienced team of security professionals about both traditional and unconventional ways to detect, analyze, and mitigate potential intrusions and other security incidents.
This team will define, develop, implement, and monitor various systems and tools to ensure client data is protected at the appropriate levels on all projects. Data protection is done in accordance with corporate policy, government standards and client specific directives.
What We Look For in a Candidate
- 1 year BS in a technical field, Computer Science, Mathematics, or
Statistics preferred.
- Experience with SIEM Platforms
- Experience with Cyber Security Tools log such as firewalls, vulnerability management, and proxy servers
- Experience with ticketing solutions such as ServiceNow or Archer
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Candidates must be willing to work in a SOC environment
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills,
- Candidate will participate in incident response and coordination in response to any Information Assurance concerns.
- Candidate will conduct tuning engagements with security engineers to develop/adjust security system tool rules and response procedures.
- Candidate will assess network traffic, detect data anomalies, and provide detailed reporting on same.
- Candidate will serve as a team member to support the analysis of general network technical problems and provide recommendations and technical support in solving these problems.
- Candidate will possess strong organizational skills and ability to stay focused while managing multiple tasks concurrently.
- Candidate will have strong critical thinking/analytical skills, creativity, and a proven drive for quality.
- Candidate must know how to provide proactive status of assigned work and ability to estimate level of effort for future work.
- Knowledge of Splunk, ServiceNow Ticketing, Linux, Putty, Network Management System (NMS)
- Eligible to clear a State level clearance process.
- Weekend and holiday work is required.
- Shift is a 4 days/10 Hour weekly schedule allowing for 3 days off per week.
