The Data Platform Engineer will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining MSG Entertainment’s advanced data platforms used for both analytics and for the integration of business and customer-facing applications. The candidate will partner closely with business users and business intelligence developers to develop applications that automate the sourcing, cleansing, and transformation of data into actionable information. The Data Platform Engineer will have the opportunity to work across the data landscape from distributed storage of raw data to population of enterprise data warehouse models. The ideal candidate is an innovative developer of data products and has a passion for automating business processes through data integration.
What will you do?
- Design, build, maintain, and optimize components of MSG enterprise data architecture required to meet the analytics and production data needs of the business
- Partner with business stakeholders and Business Intelligence (BI) developers to define data requirements and ensure accuracy of all metrics and master data
- Develop data pipelines to pull data from a variety of sources, at different velocities (stream, micro-batch, batch) into the Enterprise Data Lake (AWS s3, Glue, Lake Formation)
- Develop and implement dimensional data models to optimally deliver on the needs of business stakeholders (AWS Redshift)
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT applications required to populate dimensional data models
- Establish clean, robust master data for use across business functions
- Triage and resolve issues across all areas of MSG’s data solutions
What do you need to succeed?
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
- 2-4 years Advanced SQL development experience
- 2-4 years development experience with data structures using Python
- Working knowledge of dimensional data modeling
- Working knowledge of Big Data solutions and noSQL databases
- Experience developing high performance applications for MPP data warehouse platforms (Redshift, BigQuery, Netezza, Teradata)
- Experience working in cloud-based environment (AWS, Azure, Google)
- Experience working with ETL tools & IDE (Informatica, Talend, Pentaho, Eclipse)
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- High level of enthusiasm for building innovative data solutions
