Senior Business Analyst
Key Responsibilities
• Takes responsibility for working with business and IT stakeholders gain a full understanding of the business vision, scope, and benefits mapping for a project/initiative along with the defining the level of Business Analysis engagement required
• Definition, prioritisation, and management of the Functional and Non-Functional requirements for a project/initiative
• Challenges constructively to ensure appropriate options are considered prior to solution selection
• Selects appropriate business analysis methods and approaches for Business Analysis activities, adapting to suit the project environment (traditional Waterfall vs Agile/Iterative)
• Carrying out business process mapping, process re-engineering and analysis wherever needed
• Completing detailed data analysis across multiple data sources to support business cases, defining scope for a project workstream, identifying risk or confirm solution designs also including cost modelling financial analysis
• Liaising with technical teams to ensure requirements are understood and met
• Maintain traceability of requirements and include policy and standards into requirements e.g. security policies and standards
Who we are looking for
• Five or more years of experience as a Business Analyst, or similar role, participating in large, complex IT infrastructure projects
• Demonstrable experience of working in complex IT Infrastructure and Operations environments with a clear service focus and a clear understanding of how it supports critical business processes
• A degree level qualification or professional equivalent mandatory
• Experience working within IT Infrastructure transformation teams and previous experience of the Hamburg Sud IT estate and operating models would be preferred
• Ability to handle ambiguity, complex requirements, consolidation, and analysis of data to draw appropriate conclusions. Be prepared to handle changing and conflicting priorities
• Lead by demonstrating strong problem-solving acumen; take ownership of issues and seek to drive to resolution
• Ability to understand the bigger picture and drive out key business benefits and business cases where required for projects/programmes
• Ability to thrive in an environment of constant change and has the flexibility to adapt to any situation quickly
• Strong stakeholder management experience i.e. ability to identify differing stakeholder views and bring to consensus
• Working knowledge of IT tools and practices (Jira, Confluence, SDLC, ITIL)
• Experience in working within an Agile environment, familiarity with using Agile tools and methodologies, e.g. Kanban Boards and Scrum
• Experienced in process analysis and design using Business Process Management Notation (BPMN)
• Competent use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio and Project
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
• Ability to facilitate workshops across diverse stakeholder groups
• Ability to work under minimal supervision
• Team player
